I have no idea if she lied or was telling the truth, but I think everyone has to admit that it is possible for a woman to make something up to either benefit herself or a cause that she wants to advance.
The only way to protect from untrue claims is to set a bar to determine truthfulness.
If we dont every candidate for any office may be faced with life destroying claims.

 

A FAR better case would be a civil suit for LIBEL. The awards associated with successful libel cases can be enormous! Blasey Ford had better hope that it wouldn't amuse Kavanaugh to file one, because the odds of his winning would be, uh, GREATLY in his favor....

If she believes it happened she needs to push for justice. If the truth is on your side evidence can be found. Justices can be impeached.

The Maryland State Police says its policy is to investigate allegations only when a criminal complaint has been filed; Ford has not filed a criminal complaint.

If such a complaint were filed, the state police would turn it over to Montgomery County police.

The statute of limitation does not allow for criminal charges to be made for an incident that occurred more than 30 years ago. The only exception is for murder.

Even if the allegations were rape, instead of attempted rape, no legal charges could be made after 30 years

I went to the oldest one first. My partner and I were involved in a shoot out in the 1980's. I still remember every detail including what he was wearing, the bank, location and approx. time of day. There are 4 more close shaves in the 20 years of doing the Armored Truck thing. All of them are seared into my memory, and get dredged up time to time in sitting up breathless nightmares.
