Do you truly believe that either situation is "as likely", or that a Democratic politician would believe the NRA when the narrative demands that it should be "high capacity magazines"?
This was accomplished by statutory definition? Do tell. This was accomplished by an executive simply altering a statutory definition on a whim. You're about to have a bad time.
A six minute time span is three hundred and sixty seconds. It takes approximately two seconds for an individual to change the magazine out in an AR-15, and load a fresh magazine. For fifteen magazines, that is a grand total of thirty seconds, leaving three hundred and thirty seconds to continue the killing, or twenty two seconds in between each magazine change. It is hardly unlikely.
In simple, uncomplicated, easy to understand terms, spite. Pure, simple, vindictive spite. At the time of the Hughes amendment being implemented into law, the politics of the united states were shifting in opposition to firearm-related restrictions, new politicians were being elected to office, and those in charge at the time refused to accept such being the case in a mature manner, so they prohibited the ownership of newly manufactured fully-automatic firearms in retaliation.

Some of us don’t need any device to bump fire. I can do it with virtually any semi auto on command...not hard to learn.
