Notice how Trumpsters stopped talking about the "wall"

We don’t need a wall to secure the borders. What we do need is the political will to enforce the law. This means first and foremost going after employers who knowingly hire illegal aliens (like the Trump organization itself), going aftet the illegals for the numerous felonies they have to commit to remain in the country, and finally shutting off the magnet. The magnet is everything from free school and college for illegal aliens, along with medical care, driver licenses, sanctuary jurisdictions, and of course the 14th Amendment.
Shut off the magnet and the problem solves itself. I call this “inviting them to leave.”

Oh and we now have to seriously reform our very generous refugee and asylum policies as tens of thousands of nonqualifying individuals tried to abuse it last fall. Why we can’t have nice things...

 

I believe Trump wants to solve the problem of illegal immigration. I don’t believe he’s so stupid to believe the wall that Mexico is supposed to pay for is the solution to the problem.

 

It will help unless you believe nobody crosses the border illegally, especially bad guys.

 

It might get built, but Mexico sure as hell ain’t gonna pay for it.

The problem is that bad guys easily mix with not so bad guys. Shut off the magnet so the not so bad guys have no reason to come and the bad guys become easy enough to manage.

And I don’t hear the president talking about going after employers, fixing the 14th Amendment, prosecuting sanctuary jurisdictions, etc. All I hear is “big beautiful wall Mexico will pay for.”

 

I, too, have noticed because I, too, have been writing about the biggest story in Washington these days, Trump's vanity wall and whether the longest shutdown in American history will be followed by another shutdown. Both caused by Trump.

But Trump's fans don't want to talk about what is happening in Washington because that means they must discuss Trump. The last person Trump fans want to talk about is Trump. They would rather talk about theoretical topics, health care, Democrats and the liberal agenda while their favorite topics are AOC and the Green New Deal. Anything but Trump. Anything except what is actually happening in the world today.

Funny, the only ones talking about AOC, the Green New Deal, and medicare-for-all are Republicans.

 

Well, you know the game is up when we as a nation refuse to control illegal immigration sufficiently, and watch the rule of law being made a joke of.

As a nation we once had the good sense in wanting and demanding the control of our borders and who can come into this nation legally. Those days are gone. To want such things, is according to the incoherent modern left, a great evil and moral failing. And that is the big picture view. In times of insanity, where a people are divided and lost, these are the kinds of surreal things that a society will see. The mentality of taking in all who can get here, mostly very poor low skilled people, is one way to weaken any nation or society, through the problems, many which are costly, that will inevitably arise. If you do not work to manage immigration, both kinds, you are throwing a society to the dogs, so they will feed as they will. With no thought of the health of the society. This is the big mistake of modern progressivism. Thoughtless, even whimsical ideas of "what should be".

 

If it makes you happy we can take the money out of the aid we already give Mexico.

I would love to see a crack down on private and government people who use their offices and positions to aid and abet illegal immigrants. I'm sure all the people in SF who hire illegal immigrants to skirt the laws and taxes they impose on American citizens are all evil Republicans.

However, it must be honestly said, that not all of Trump's base is racist. A lot of them are ordinary people who aren't especially well informed and are easily scared by a changing world that they don't really understand.

Folks like that are always ripe fodder for demogogues like Trump.

Trump isn't a serious demogogue either. He doesn't really care. His yardstick is whether his base is holding and the size of his rally crowds.

Nothing else.

None the less, Trump readily understood the blatant racism in the GOP and the racial animus on the white right wing.

It has been all over right wing talk radio for years, and Fox News has seldom missed an opportunity to gin up racial resentment.

Trump just supercharged and personalized these very distructive and negative message from right wing media.

 

If they confiscate El Chappo's 14 bil, I guess they will pay for it.

 

I don't hear any Democrats talking about anything except the green new deal.

It would appear Trumpers are already on board with rationalizing the Orange Fraud's defeat in to a victory as he continues to play to people's fantasies about the wall Mexico was going to pay for.

Why are we giving Mexico any aid at all? They have tremendous mineral wealth (oil, gas, gold, silver, copper, uranium) and a massive workforce with a strong work ethic. All they need to do is kick out to plutocrats who own their politicians. Why do we have to pay for a dozen multibillionaires to keep robbing the Mexican people?

Indeed. Yet the president hasn't said a word about this. Because big beautiful wall! Mexico pay!

I don't care what party they vote for. Bottom line is they are almost never held accountable for their actions. In my view, the lure of under-the-table employment is the biggest draw for illegals from south of the border, second being all the free bennies (up to and including free college in my former home state), and third being birthright citizenship if you are lucky enough to squeeze out a pup on this side of the Rio Grande.
