Didn't read vapid thread. Frankly tired of the "stopped talking about" horseshit. Why is it that the Left does this 90:10 compared to the nonleft? No one "stopped talking about" bladeblablabla just because there hasn't been a bunch of news articles on a topic today or this week. Get honest.

Why is it that leftists can NEVER simply make a policy argument or opinion without endless layers of effeminate, hyperbolically emotional and slanted overlay? FFS Why? One of the things I thought was funny, was when there was the offer made during Trump's El Paso campaign rally, Trump says to the crowd something like "I could have listened to what the deal was, but I wanted to spend time with my people here in El Paso".

And then he goes on about the murderers and rapists pouring in by the thousands.

The bipartisan agreement includes $1.375 billion for 55 miles of new fences along the border (not a wall). Trump was demanding $5.7 billion for a border wall. He turned down $1.6 billion that was offered in December.

Trump caused the longest government shutdown in American history and for what? He is getting less than what was offered before the shutdown. The Democrats caved?

 

Yep, the Republican Senate offer of 1.6 billion was DOA in the House so the only bill available for Trump to sign had zero for a wall so basically this is a loss for Pelosi's $1 for a wall.

Trump's "big, beautiful wall" that he vowed Mexico would pay for serves as a magic juju for his groveling worshippers only as long as most Americans get their way and it is not built.

With far more undocumented immigrants overstaying visas, squandering $5.7 billion of US taxpayer dollars on such a boondoggle at a time illicit border crossing have diminished considerably, and families seeking asylum are far more likely to seek out border control agents rather than evade them, is ludicrous.

And the reality is that Trump's federal aggression would confront years of legal barriers as private property owners, local businesses and churches fought his Big Government confiscations and spoke truth to power via judicial recourse.

For the US to adopt a campaign gimmick contrived by a reality-tv performer with no expertise or experience in border security as the panacea to cure crackpot claims of duct-taped women and prayer rugs everywhere would be absurd.

If you think the wall issue is gone or even diminished in support, if you are going to be a denier- I suggest you get out there and ask why we have around 8,000 illegal entries each day that do not get caught. The fact that nincompoop legislators stand in the way because they think their party wants them too have really accomplished anything, you are wrong. The way things are going, the dems will lose the next election in a landslide loss, and people- republicans and democrats alike- are recognizing the lunacy of the dem party position. Trump will take the house back, and I doubt there will be any more fence-sitters who try to reach across the aisle- they will just do what needs to be done and lets the whiners carry on about how they are being victimized and not given fair consideration.

People who feel they must de-humanize and demonize a person as a first step are only trying to justify doing something in the next step that would be unacceptable otherwise.
