Not every weapon is always readily available at short notice, and certainly not a massively expensive one such as the laser-guided JDAM which you're advocating the use of. There are many factors at play here; uncertainty of positive targets, small and mobile targets (we're talking of a few guys with a mortar or RPG here), darkness, distance to target, loiter-time over the target. It isn't as simple a scenario as dropping a bomb on an Iraqi tank in broad daylight.
Furthermore, munitions such as the smaller laser-guided Paveway I, II and III rely on the target being visually within the aircraft's target acquisition window throughout its trajectory. If you cannot see the target you cannot accurately place your weapon.

You are entitled to you opinion Snake.

But since this is an American issue and you are a foreigner it does not interest me in the least.

The conflict in the Middle East is a global issue. Ok, Americans were attacked. Britons have also been attacked in the region, but you'll have noticed we don't get hysterics over the issue. Since April there have been three attacks on diplomatic missions in Libya, including a convoy carrying the British Ambassador.

No Britain's were abandoned to die by Obama at the US consulate in Libya.

So you have part in this incident.

Yes, because we had the sense to get out. If your government was too stupid to understand how lethal the area was-despite several advanced warnings-then you have nothing to blame but lack of 'personal responsibility'.
Staying put was not heroic, patriotic or any other 'ic'. It was a dumb decision.

    Finally we agree on something.

Obama and Hillary are stupid people.

In my community, any loud noise brings bystanders. I'd bet it's the same for your community. And like I said, the mortar teams could have been anywhere. They don't put iridescent Xs on the backs so they can be picked out of crowds by F-16 pilots.
