I really don't mind a gun in every hand as long as the weekly massacres stop. I'm looking to the NRA for solutions and they are dropping the ball.

Rights are what the people of this nation say they are. Always have been, always will be. So you might want to desist being an oaf.

Rights are an intrinsic part of human existence. They are not granted by governments or determined by a people of any single nation.

I remember once I had a right to drink hard liquor. Then I didn't. Now I do.

I remember once I had a right to make black people pick cotton for free. Now I don't. Maybe I will again someday.

I remember once I had the right to smoke pot. Then I didn't. Now I do.

Are you gettin' the general drift?

Not for the Brits in England and the Europeans they were were not rights because a bunch of guys got together that considered themselves something special and above everyone else, you know, the so called Royalty back then, and SAID they were not rights but they, themselves, HELD these rights. Consider what would have happened to a yeoman that said publicly that his, "king was worse than crazy and stupid on top of it", at the time the Constitution was wrote. You think that ANY few men can change the Bill of Rights??? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHHHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHHAA...... Hey, Snak, bring them on and see what happens to them. Not understanding our system of government you don't seem to realize that a few men wrote it but it had to be passed by 66.6% of all the States in a popular vote. In other words, Snak, at this point min time you would have to sell your silly ideas to almost 100 million people and have them vote to repeal the 2nd Amendment. And since over 2/3 of us do NOT trust our government, that isn't going to happen. But... hehehehehehehe ..... go ahead and try and see what happens....hehehehehehehehe..

The ACLU made sure they would NOT get this help and it's getting people killed, the ones that should be the patient as well as their victims.

Your looking to who for solutions??? How about looking in the mirror the same way the rest of us are doing. Come up with an answer that doesn't violate everyone else's rights!!!

Hey Pho, IF it's "legal" for you to smoke pot you either live in Washington state of Colorado, those are the only 2 states that have made recreational pot smoking "legal" but as far as the federal government is concerned it's still illegal.

Now, for your silly drift, you only have one point and that's the 18th Amendment V. the 21st Amendment. Of course the 18th Amendment put the Mafia and other gangs in control of a lot of American cities with their ill gotten gains from the sell of alcohol. But I'll bet I have a better chance of getting the 16th and 26th Amendments repealed before you could even think of getting enough votes to get the 2nd Amendment repealed. Care to make any wagers???

And JUST WAY are you not also talking about the other half that were killed by Eric Thomas with knives??? And so far as having a higher kill rate than other industrialized nations with guns, to bad but yet not true. I keep wondering when your going to stop telling this lie. Oh, what industrialized country has a higher murder rate than the U.S.??? Did you ever hear of a little nation called RUSSIA??? That's right, Blow, Russia has a murder rate over twice what the U.S. murder rate it. Ours is 4.6 while Russia's is 9.7. Now watch, you will come back with the, "Russia isn't industrialized", or , "The Russian only kill each other with vodka bottles", or some such nonsense.

Very true, but there are those out there that want to make it so.

Hummmm, .... besides repeating the preamble to the Constitution let me say that the PEOPLE of THIS nation have said that owning guns IS our RIGHT!!! And after the way the current administration has been acting (by the way, Obama has been the biggest poster boy for gun ownership we have had since King George) the majority of the people STILL feel that way.

Let's see, being free to express what I think and about whom I think it IS a God given RIGHT. To practice the religion of my choice and NOT have the State dictate to me what I SHALL believe or to where I go to worship IS a God given RIGHT. To own a weapon to protect these rights, at lest here, Is a God given RIGHT! Sorry, there is NO ONE that has been born that is above me or has the "God given right" to rule me as England and Europe was ruled for so many thousands of years. This nation was founded on individual freedom, individual rights, and has been that way for over 200 years and I hope to God it stays that way for another 200. Yes, there are those out there, the cradle to grave crowd that want to be "protected" and "provided for" by Uncle Sugar but they are not the majority at this time.

Yet for what??? 3 to 400 years the Church of England told you people where you had to go and be on Sundays??? And don't most Muslim counties today tell their people where they have to worship and WHO they have to worship??? I'll keep my gun, thank you very much, who knows, it might be needed in the near future.

Not hardly. You made the Claim that the U.S. has the highest gun murder rate of any industrialized country in the world and I pointed out that Russia has over twice the murder rate as the U.S.. Come on Blow, show me where I'm wrong or retract you assertion. Humm...., I suppose that that "Blunt objects, personal weapons, or OTHER" are where cars come in, right??? Ya, RIGHT!!!

    I thought this might be interesting;

I said gun death rate for a reason - you are insisting on comparing apples to oranges by comparing overall death rates

Now I admit it does not include Russia or Mexico but that hardly matters because simply claiming someone else is worse does not excuse a horrendously sad statistic like this

It is impossible to get rid of insanity or guns. I feel just as remorseful for the families of the three stabbed to death as the three that died from firearms. Many just seem to worry about the shooting deaths.

While I wish the NRA would stand up for other civil rights since they are the most powerful organization. That is not their mission or fair to expect them to defend them all. It is not realistic to expect them to attempt to solve the mental health problem alone. It will require billions of dollars likely in the 100's of billions. As a society we do not seem willing to spend that money. Until someone proposes a real solution like providing treatment for the criminally deranged and the NRA opposes it. I can not blame them for our collective failure.

That was a abusive system that was inhumane IMO. They need treatment not torture that is very expensive and complex. Very few people are willing to spend a billion dollars or more per victim of mass killings to prevent them. So they pretend to slap a band-aid on the problem to say they are protecting us.

Of course you didn't include Russia or Mexico as they BOTH have higher murder rates than the U.S.. Your the one trying make a point but only using half the facts. And of course the ONLY thing that matters in your world is pointing a finger at the U.S.. Sorry, I will not buy it and I don't think the majority of the board will either.

Mister, I have a dead nephew because his mother could NOT have him committed. More than half the homeless belong on a mental ward but it's more human to have them on the street???God save us from those that think they are looking out for us. Kind of reminds me of Waco.
