So you can't see how someone could make no money one year and still buy groceries? Does the word 'savings' mean anything to you? It's what people have had to dip into because the left demanded our economy be shut down.

People with savings aren’t a billion dollars in debt

What I don't understand is why Democrats think people should pay more taxes. The government has done nothing if not turn into a huge lumbering behemoth, yet they have never once fulfilled their fake promises to eradicate poverty or shore up "equality" among socioeconomic classes. Why people vote for the side of lying snake oil salesmen, who want to take more of your money and stuff their own pockets is beyond me.

Both of those examples are using assets to cover expenses. That’s not sustainable in the long term. It might be ok if you have a huge asset pot and relatively low expenses, but that just extends the time before the money runs out.

This is why it’s important to see trump’s tax returns and his true financial situation. He is quite obviously hiding something because he knows it would hurt him politically.

But Trump claimed he made $240 million off the production of The Apprentice. How does one write off that kind of income to pay zero in taxes? It's not like a construction project. And that money was flowing in until 2015.

You’re right. The country would get along just fine if everyone paid $750 per year.

By the way, the deficit is ballooning under Dirty Donny’s watch.

The irony in your post is astonishing. Trump is the lying snake oil salesman.

Cite and what were the earnings?

"Incidentally, the rules on loss-carrying have gone back and forth a lot recently. Obama’s stimulus law extended the “carryback” period, allowing Trump to attempt this at the time he did; the recent GOP tax bill eliminated the ability to carry losses backward in time for a refund of past taxes (while removing the 20-year limit on carrying losses forward); and then the CARES Act brought carrybacks back for the 2018–2020 tax years to inject some money into businesses during COVID."

And this is old news recall in his debate with Hillary and she tried to attack him with the "and there have been years when you paid no income tax" and he replied that yes he was smart and took all his deductions and credits. Don't YOU take all the deductions and credits your are allowed?

As a Citizen of this country, we all shoulder the responsibility for paying for the Military. It's just kind of amazing that Trump can get away with only paying $750 dollars a year toward that obligation. It's like claiming "bone spurs" for your taxes ... WTF?

Agreed, but this could be legitimate. If he was getting his hair done to appear on TV for the Apprentice, that could be a legitimate cost.

I don’t have my own plane and I still paid more than 750 bucks. Didn’t you?

If you have other losses that year or carryover losses from the previous DUH. If the NYT is not going to publish ALL the facts then they should not selectively do so.

Now what about the person who obtained these federal protected records and released them, what should happen to them? Releasing someone else's tax return information can be a federal crime you DO agree we should find out who is doing this and charge them if they violated the law don't you?

It’s the only show on tv that doesn’t do this for their cast? BS
So he didn’t write it off in 2017? Right?
And 70k??? Is he the only client? Is this the most amazing hair stylist on the planet? And that’s how he looks???

It is sustainable if you're worth a billion. If I won a $10 million jackpot after tax, I could live to be over 100 years old on $200,000 per year. That's a lot of beans and rice. :)

Trump's tax returns are his personal business. If I were filthy rich, I wouldn't want my returns out in public either. In fact, I wouldn't want my returns publicized and I'm a nobody pipsqueak.

I understand, personal or corporate? It sounds to me like Trump is being blamed for his company's taxes, not his personal ones.

No I have a sports car and I had no HUGE losses and I do not contribute all my income to charity. How about you?

The carry over rules were expanded by the Obamaa/Biden administration and rolled back by the Republicans.............who do you support?

I agree with all that - that’s why it’s important to see his returns.

How much did he pay in those other years?

What was his income and what were the losses in the years he paid nothing or just $750?

He contributed all of his salary to charity. What was the other income and what were the loses applied to it?

The president’s financial disclosures indicated he earned at least $434.9 million in 2018.

Didnt you say he had no income?

No it's not, what he paid in taxes is none of your or my business it is federally protected information.

What is import to see is how that federally protected information was leaked, that could be a federal crime don't you believe the person who did so should be charged with a crime if they violated the law?
