Just speculating here but wonder who the public would find fault with if Congress passed a budget piecemeal. Defense on a bill, Homeland Security on another, FDA on a third etc. Would Obama veto them all and how would the public feel about that. Appears to me he would just come off as a bratty child throwing everyone's dinner on the floor just because there was no chocolate ice cream for him

    :roflol:

    President Obama is the Liar-in-Chief.

    He surrounds himself with liars.

His political policy consists of lying, Alinsky-style.

    Mr. Hope and Change.... isn't.

He's a liar. He hasn't delivered on anything.

There's been no change, and everyone's hopes have been shattered.

OMG, you just won the most Obama Kool Aid drank by a forum member :roflol:

Lest you forget since you like to brag about taking a beating, Americans just handed Obama and the democrats their ass by a huge margin, and Mary Landrieu is trying to board the last lifeboat on her Titanic campaign. The American people are sick of the lying inept loser that was elected twice, they want his bull(*)(*)(*)(*) agenda stopped. Perhaps you've been asleep for the last 5 weeks? :roflol:

Lots of ignorance in this thread.
If some of you were presented the actual gist of the executive order and were told it was presented by a tea party darling you would love it.
The truth is it addresses some really important issues that many on the right have been looking for.

You know -- just like when Kentucky re-branded the Affordabvle Care Act Kynect and the right loved it.

To many let others inform them.

    Think for yourselves.
    Or don't.
Just know -- to those of us who take the time to be informed you come off awfully silly.

First, they will have to muster 60 votes to get them past a filibuster.

Obama is making his move to go from de facto king to dictator. If he's not stopped, we deserve the hell he brings.

    If you say so.
I saw 31% of the electorate actually come out to vote.
I see no filabuster proof majorities in Congress
And I watched minimum wage hikes, legalized marijuahna get overwhelmingly approved on every ballot it appeared and personhood fail miserably on every ballot it appeared.

Old, angry, white guys come out in droves for the midterms.
    This is news to you?

Just two years ago Obama was re-elected by a huge margin.

Talk to me when the fringe right actually has the executive branch or filabuster proof majorities.

Won't happen as long as you disregard the current minority soon to be a majority party in this country.

That's not drinking Kool-aid. That's understanding the big picture.

Do not have to. If Obama starts vetoing everything left and right, a ton of money gonna be saved and we all will be better off. So be it.

Does the Senate bill require verification the border is secure? If not then it's worthless. DHS Director Janet Incompetano told us the border WAS secure.......

Napolitano on Immigration: Border Is Secure So 'Fix the Entire System' - March 1, 2013

That was BEFORE tens of thousands of illegal immigrant youths streamed across the border. So we know they lie.

As far as the bill being Bi-Partisan only 14 of 47 Republicans were on board, that's less than 1/3rd and hardly Bi-Partisan.

Obama killed any chance of a Comprehensive Reform bill anytime soon by acting on his own.

Reid already changed the rules of filibuster for appointment confirmations, opening the door to change it for voting to simple majority.

Why don't you try reading it and tell us.
    http://www.schumer.senate.gov/forms/immigration.pdf
Pay particular attention to Effective Rate and Triggers under the first part -- Border Security.
Try thinking for yourself. You might like it.
    Or not.

there is always cloture if needed. Anyway , can't see too many more Dem Senators willing to fall on their sword for Obama. There is the fresh memory of Nov 4 , 2014 in all their little minds. Anyway that would still just make the Dems look bad if they filibustered the bill to fund homeland security and there was a terrorist attack or something. Dems have a hard row to hoe for at least the next 2 years, probably more. Looks like the Dem strategists are not going to get the GOP shutdown for Christmas they want so badly, Santa says they been naughty boys and girls and will get a lump of coal instead, assuming the EPA will let them have the coal

I respect the political opinion of everyone who is informed.
I'm actually not that big of a fan of Barack Obama.
However I'm less of a fan of ignorance.
Even less of a fan of folks who think they are informed and try to sound all righteous and better than.
In the few days I've been around this place I'm blown away by how many people seem to know dick about anything.

If you were informed and actually knew politics -- meaning you understood the congressional seats up in the next election -- you would understand just how silly what you wrote sounds.

Seriously.... is there anyone on the political forum informed enough to actually talk real politics?
Or is this place just an ideological stroke thyself fest?

I've been here for a few years now. Guess what? That last sentence is correct. No, you will find very few people who will actually discuss politics with you here.

I read Section 3 Effective date triggers. Nothing requires the border to be secure first before processing people already here. Without that, Chuckles Schumer can cut his bill into 4" squares and keep a stack by the commode in case the roll runs out.

Under Penalties. It show a $1000 penalty payable to DHS, needs to be changed to $5000. The same section requires them to pay all costs, then limits the total paid. Wrong Jeopardy answer. It makes a sham out of the background check. The guy in northern California that killed 2 Sheriff's deputies after he was deported twice and used multiple birthdays and names to avoid detection. The need to pay for the full complete background investigation or go home. Same Section provides for taxpayer funded legal services in obtaining a "blue" card.

I'm only up to page 185 of 844 and found all that bad stuff. Time to start over.

SENATORS UP FOR RE-ELECTION IN 2016

    DEMOCRATS

    Michael Bennet (Colorado)
    Richard Blumenthal (Connecticut)
    Barbara Boxer (California)
    Patrick Leahy (Vermont)
    Barbara Mikulski (Maryland)
    Patty Murray (Washington)
    Harry Reid (Nevada)
    Brian Schatz (Hawaii)
    Charles Schumer (New York)
    Ron Wyden (Oregon)

    REPUBLICANS

    Kelly Ayotte (New Hampshire)
    Roy Blunt (Missouri)
    John Boozman (Arkansas)
    Richard Burr (North Carolina)
    Dan Coats (Indiana)
    Mike Crapo (Idaho)
    Chuck Grassley (Iowa)
    John Hoeven (North Dakota)
    Johnny Isakson (Georgia)
    Ron Johnson (Wisconsin)
    Mark Kirk (Illinois)
    James Lankford (Oklahoma)
    Mike Lee (Utah)
    John McCain (Arizona)
    Jerry Moran (Kansas)
    Lisa Murkowski (Alaska)
    Rand Paul (Kentucky)
    Rob Portman (Ohio)
    Marco Rubio (Florida)
    Tim Scott (South Carolina)
    Richard Shelby (Alabama)
    John Thune (South Dakota)
    Pat Toomey (Pennsylvania)
    David Vitter (Louisiana)

What does one suppose the outcome will be with presidential election turnout rates?
And you guys want them to fight immigration reform?
    You're joking, right?

You do realize the demographic make-up of the United States, right?
Today minorities make-up 37% of the electorate. By 2020 it will be 40%.

If Conservative values -- like fiscal policy -- stand the slightest bit of a chance (and I, for one, embrace many of these policies) the fringe of the GOP needs to start dealing in reality like real quick.

    That's what y'all are missing.
You can be all dramatic, and kick and scream all you want.
Unless you are willing to compramise on things like immigration -- you are destined to be a miserable, non-effective minority.

    And that's the truth.

    Choice is yours.
