Memo to Outer Space: It was costs, not benefits, that were cut.

Yup, and smart too. So there's another person with two legs up on you. Not all that tough to outshine a sock-puppet, of course.

Why don't you give us your analysis of the G-20 Finance Ministers and Summit meetings in the Spring of 2009, for starters. Or didn't you know that there were any?

The author was delirious. Federal borrowing is not wrenched out of the hands of those about to do something else with it. It comes principally from individual and institutional investors who have accumulated cash that they wish to invest.. These include hundreds of pension and mutual funds, domestic and foreign governments, university endowments, major world banks, and the like. No jobs at all are lost when the dollars these people hold are used to purchase US Treasury securities. The author was either counting on his readers being a bunch of dunces or was a dunce himself.

    You are very mistaken, 17th.

When funding is reduced cuts in benefits are soon to follow.

You never did well in your economics courses did you?

Why is it that Republicans have well earned the "Party of No" title, but Obama is the polarizing one?

Maybe because they are saying no to an ever expanding federal government and some find Obama's policies that propound that polarizing. Think?

The "have nots" will always be envious and resentful of people who have more than that do!

The next president will become the new most divisive president three months after he enters office. That's the way things are going.

It will be interesting to see want measures this "Super Committee" in Congress finally comes up with!

Things will really hit the fan if mandatory budget cuts go into effect!

BTW, What do you think about this discussion?

Not really. The ugliest most divisive force in political history are the Republicans in Congress.

    http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2011/10/obama-gains-vs-gop-on-jobs-as-congress-hits-a-new-low/

“Congress customarily is rated lower than the president, there being something there for almost everyone to dislike. But the gap today is far wider than usual – 28 points in the president’s favor, compared with an average of 15 points.

Still, the Republicans in Congress have earned disproportionate animus. Seventy-nine percent of Americans say they’re dissatisfied with the way the political system is working. Asked whom they mainly blame for that, 39 percent pick the congressional Republicans, 25 percent Obama. An additional 27 percent blame both equally."

The Republican leadership has admitted that their main purpose is to "make Obama unelectable"
But I say: Keep it up Republicans. The American people are on to you.

    You are indeed correct, darckriver.

This discussion about Obama's indecision and waffling was very interesting.

"There is Obama's inability to make a decision, his "drift," his "loss of interest," and Summers once again. Orszag is quoted as telling Suskind, "Larry would say [to Obama], 'I'll make my argument first; you can go after me.'" Orszag then recalls to Suskind something Suskind was to hear from countless others, "I'm thinking, 'I can't believe he's talking to the president that way.' I just don't know why Obama didn't say, 'I made that decision a week ago. Just do what I say.'" Well, Obama probably did not make that decision a week ago. In another meeting, after "a dozen arguments," Suskind writes, "Obama, in a voice that was softly dispirited, said, 'Well, if you guys can't agree, I mean, we don't have to do it.'" As I say, this is from one page. The book continues, and makes very painful reading even for me in all my vindication."

This is hearsay evidence there is no solid proof but it makes for good conservative propaganda. Let's compare your kind of fictional propaganda evidence with real public evidence that is verifiable.

Lets take a look at the record when it comes to Mitt the Flip Romney

Which of the following statements has Mitt made?
    1. “I believe that since Roe v. Wade has been the law for 20 years that we should sustain and support it. And I sustain and support that law and the right of a woman to make that choice.” [Massachusetts Senatorial Debate, Boston Herald and Boston Globe, 10/25/94]
    2. “And that is why, as a pro-life Republican, I am in favor of having the Supreme Court overturn Roe v. Wade.” [Hannity And Colmes, Fox, 9/5/07]
    3. All of the above
    Answer: All of the above.

    On Government Auto Industry Loans
Which of the following statements has Mitt made?

    2. “That's exactly what I said. The headline you read which said ‘let Detroit go bankrupt' points out that those companies needed to go through bankruptcy to shed those costs.” [CBS News, Early Show, 6/3/11]
    3. All of the above
    Answer: All of the above.

    On The Recovery Act
Which of the following statements has Mitt made?
    1. “I think there is need for economic stimulus. Americans have lost about $11 trillion in net worth … And government can help make that up in a very difficult time.” [CNN, Late Edition, 1/4/09]
    2. “I have never supported the President's Recovery Act... No time, no where, no how have I supported the President's stimulus.” [Romney Town Hall, Goffstown NH, 9/28/11]
    3. All of the above
    Answer: All of the above.

On How President Obama Handled The Recession
Which of the following statements has Mitt made?
    1. “He didn’t create the recession, but he made it worse, and longer.” [CNN GOP Debate, 6/13/11]
    2. “I didn't say that things are worse.” [Romney, Allentown Pennsylvania, 6/30/11]

    3. All of the above
    Answer: All of the above.

    On President Reagan
Which of the following statements has Mitt made?

    2. “The right way for America to proceed when we face the kind of challenges we face is to pursue the strategy which Ronald Reagan pursued when we faced the challenges of the last century.” [Meet The Press, 11/16/07]
    3. All of the above
    Answer: All of the above.

Unfortunately Romney and Perry are the Stars of the Republican party. A snake and an idiot. I'll take my chances with Obama every time.

    Come now, Loser.

This is nothing more than a diversion and you know it. Obama is so stupid, he couldn't even get his jobs bill right! The way his bill is so poorly crafted, it would kill more jobs than it would create! This is why the Democrats in the Senate will not support it!

"It turns out, for some odd reason, Obama has foolishly included many anti-job measures in his latest jobs bill, the $447 billion American Jobs Act of 2011.

Why on earth would Obama do this? Does he not listen to his closest advisors? Are his Marxist roots so deep that he cannot divorce himself from them? Here is a list of the major short comings with his latest attempts to get our economy moving in the right direction again.

"Obama has vowed to forge ahead with his jobs plan, fulfilling that well-known definition of insanity: doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. In February 2009, Congress enacted the $825 billion American Reinvestment and Recovery Act. Since then, the U.S. economy has lost an additional 1.5 million workers."

For more more information of the subject of the $447 billion American Jobs Act of 2011, please see the following reliable reference.

Anyone who is hated by the right-wing is definitely doing something right.
<<< Mod Edit: Personal Attack >>>Coming from a right-winger, it's to be expected, and also immediately discounted.
The more hyperbolic and hysterical the hate, the better he must be doing.
I'll start to worry when anyone on the rabid right has something positive to say about him.

As "The Anointed One", Obama believes he does not have to compromise!

"Now will another socialist come along and make absurd promises like Obama? Of course one will. The something for nothing crowd will always be there with their hands out."

This discussion was also very good!

"Since taking office in January 2009, President Obama has ushered in a period of relentless economic decline for the United States. His administration has added $4.2 trillion to the national debt (now standing at $14.9 trillion), lost 2.2 million jobs, introduced a vastly expensive health-care albatross, and spent nearly $800 billion on a failed stimulus package. At the same time, house prices across the country have tumbled at an unprecedented rate, consumer confidence has plummeted, and millions more Americans are now dependent upon food stamps. Ultimately, the world needs a powerful United States that is a beacon of hope to the world, rather than a basket case of failed liberal policies."
