The Dems can decide to enact Medicare for All because they do not need "permission" to pass that kind of legislative change to existing constitutional programs.

 

Medicare Part A is already FULLY FUNDED by payroll taxes AND premiums. Expanding it will only require modest adjustments to both.

 

I agree it would have to be paid for by taxes. But the tax would basically be what you or your employer currently spends on health insurance. Preferably less.

When Donald Trump bellows that he has a brilliant plan, we are in no doubt that he has no plan at all and no idea what he's talking about.

And sicne the GOP yelled "repeal and replace" for seven years and never once offered a plan to replace, you can bet the McConnell doesn't have a plan either.

And the "most brilliant" plan, is the one most people support. "Medicare for all".

And the GOP, which has consistently opposed any sort of health care financing reform for decades,will find themselves on the wrong side of that argument.

They will make dire predictions and cite extreme examples, as they always do. And they will fear monger, which is their default strategy for keeping flyover voters in line with the Wall Street agenda.

But the world did not end for most people when the ACA was passed, and most people realized that they were better off and more secure.

So they will be far less receptive to the same old scare tactics when "Medicare for all" comes up.

 

I would not say that the "greed obsession" isn't there.

After all, doctors are still paid very well in countries with single payer national health insurance. Only, they don't have to carry the heavy administrative staff that American doctors have to in order to cope with the complex maze of private insurance, and many prominent pharmaceutical companies are European. So they must have figured it out, too.

What should be important is that we all get what we need. That isn't what those Rich SOB's in the healthcare and Insurance want. They went through all the steps to take their part of the money with Obamacare, and now have those VAST and LARGE increases in place. That is where the additional costs came from, the providers, Doctors who are now millionaires, they own the imagining centers, the nursing homes, the home healthcare units, etc. Maybe 500 groups of Zionist BRILLIANT business men who are consolidating the system and taking all the money. Along with Biotech, 3rd party benefit managers and everyone but the patient has their hand out.

Drive value down, remove shares from 401K AT A LOSS to the working class guy. Zionists load up on shares, take drug to phase II trial, complete good, sell corp to Celgene @ 12 Billion. Arie walks away with a cool 1B in 8 years using our system, our hospitals, our cancer centers. The Drug was not even being sold yet (zero revenue). He and his friends walked away with huge money. When the drug finally hit the market last year, costs 325K per person to treat. There are 11,500 lobbyists registered. For every ONE there is another 10 that support them in some fashion. Thus, 120K working in the business that have no direct effect on healthcare.
