O'Keefe video shows CNN's Van Jones calling Russia story a ‘nothingburger’

Why do you care who other Americans supported for President? I don't. I didn't wonder for the last years about why people supported Obama. Having the right to vote is a great thing. 150 years ago I would not have.

I personally don't know a single Republican who wanted Hillary to win, and living in NH and being involved in Republican politics in this state for the better part of 15 years, I know a substantial amount of Republicans.

I didn't support Trump because I don't support narcissistic, lying, crass, crude Democrats. I never did, and I wasn't going to start with him.

 

And yet's Trump's election prevented exactly that from happening. I think the lady doth protest too much.

 

I'm even more confused about something else. I had to look up what Jones has been saying about the Trump collusion theory, since all of these Trump supporters who apparently watch CNN constantly have yet to say what he's said on the matter. I found something he said last month in a Twitter chat about it.

"I am glad there is a Russia investigation and I hope they get to the bottom of it," Jones said in a Twitter chat earlier this month.

He added: "I think Democrats are fooling ourselves if we think that something is going to come out of this investigation that is somehow going to end the Trump Presidency and make everything better. Unless there is a real smoking gun which there is probably not, its just going to be a big old mess. Meanwhile we are not talking about jobs, not talking about poverty, not talking about solutions, not talking about the addiction crisis. Lets talk about our stuff."

So apparently he's already been saying this publicly, and for some reason his many fans who watch him all the time didn't even know that. So I'm even more confused about what the story is here. If he already said publicly he anticipates no smoking gun (I agree with him on that), nothing in the end is going to come out to ruin the Trump presidency (again, I agree on that), and the Democrats are foolishly focusing on this and not talking about an actual agenda (part of their problem the last few years and a very strong indicator of why they lost in 2016), what's the story here? What exactly did this O'Keefe guy scoop?

 

O'Keefe is a proven liar and huckster. He edits his videos to try to prove a pre-concieved conclusion. Anyone that can't see this doesn't have the ability to discern BS from real news. Another FAIL by this grifter.

 

Sorry, no. He's more narcissistic, crude, crass and dishonest than I even imagined. He's still a Democrat, but he's as sneaky as the other Democrats. Just like Bill Clinton wasn't stupid enough to let his racist attitude towards blacks come out when he was President, and it didn't come out until his wife ran for President. He pretended to lurve the blacks. He didn't. Trump has to allow his alt-right co-President Steve Bannon continue to make decisions that appeal to the base. Trump likes being President. He doesn't want to lose you guys.

I'm laughing with you, not at you by the way. Things could be worse. The SCOTUS was in extreme peril. This supersedes all things that people feel about Trump, one way or another. Be thankful.

No, I always thought Bill Clinton was white. Like pasty faced, unattractive white. He just pretended to love black people so they'd vote for him.

I'm glad that Gorsuch is on the court, and I suspect that Pence and Priebus were behind that one. But all I know is as recently as 2012 Trump was publicly supporting Obama's push for gun control, and he was vocally pro-partial birth abortion and single payer, among other liberal ideals. So I know he's a fraud. I would respect him if he would stop acting like a pansy-assed little kid and start acting Presidential. But until that happens, he's done nothing to earn my respect of him as a person. He doesn't act in a respectful way.

 

And all he did was release a "super secret video" recording of something Jones already said publicly.

In other words, this "scoop" by O'Keefe turned out to be a big old nothingburger.

 

So you supported Trump picking Gorsuch for the SCOTUS. Despite that you suspect Pence and Preibus had something to do with it.

In the end you supported Trump.....the Democrat that you say he is.

It's kind of serendipitous that you posted that right after I read THIS op-ed piece:

You asked some really good questions. I don't see the scoop either. That's why I asked about the date of the video. Seems to me that Van Jones speaks for himself. It's not like what he said can be extrapolated to apply to all Democrats, or any other group.

I agree that there is not likely to be a smoking gun on collusion with Russia, at least not directly linked to Trump, himself. I'm not so sure about the other people in his circle though. Just from what I have read about Jared Kushner, he might have some real problems talking business with a sanctioned banker. Of course, Trump can always pardon him, so there's that.

Trump doesn't operate his businesses cleanly. Since Mueller can dig into finances, there certainly may be something illegal found. Also, Trump is blatantly not following his own plan to adhere to the Emoluments Clause. Whether or not any financial issue ends his Presidency entirely depends on the politics of Congress. At this point in time, I highly doubt Congress will do anything. If the political climate changes, then it might. There's no real way to predict that though. Not many could predict a Trump Presidency, yet here we are.

 

There is no Russia-Trump story. CNN admits it. They're just beating this drum for ratings and to delay Trump's agenda.

I'd be embarrassed if I was a Dem right now. They really look foolish.

 

I don't watch CNN these days, but I'll go out on a limb and say that I suspect Jones has been on the "Russian Trump conspiracy" bandwagon as fervently as anyone. Now he's saying it's nothing, ie he's been lying. He's a key, daily CNN contributor. If he's been lying, CNN has been lying.

The Russia conspiracy line was always nonsense. There was obviously a market for it, but there was never any evidence. There's no reason for CNN to a stop peddling the nonsense if their subscribers want it and there's no requirement for them to do actual journalism. But the simple facts of the matter are worth pointing out.

He is very unstable. Did you see his Tweets this morning? He's crying because Joe and Mika got under his skin. Again.

This is not normal behavior for a 71 year old who isn't suffering from some sort of mental illness, like Alzheimers. I think he thinks he's a high schooler again. But at least he still notices the pretty girls. Did you see the clip of him interrupting his own discussion with the new Irish Prime Minister to call over an Irish reporter and say how beautiful she is? Weird behavior for a President. Hell, it's weird behavior for a road crew worker.

 

So now from Collusion to Obstruction to Trump doesn't operate his businesses cleanly. There certainly may be something illegal discovered, huh? Then to the fall back on his people.

Whats next.....Trump broke a Court Order during his first divorce? Driving Citations? Didn't pay his parking tickets?

 

Actually, I posted something that I found this morning that proves that as long as one month ago Jones was publicly saying this investigation was going nowhere, there was no smoking gun, and the Dems needed to hush up about it. So the one who presented a nothingburger here was O'Keefe.
