The poll in question does not exclusively focus on the Middle East, so I don't understand your objection.

Muslim extremists have been disgusted by the West because it doesn't conform to Islamic principles. Just one of many reasons the arrangement doesn't make sense.

Mohammad said to fight us until "all worship is for Allah", and The Islamic State terrorists are Mohammad's biggest fans.

There were no lies in the commentary. The only lies told so far is your claim that 72% have an unfavorable view of ISIS, and your claim that I left something out from the Pew Research article.

And it is actually 8 out of the 11 countries that have a double digit percentage of the population either having a favorable opinion of ISIS or don't know/are indifferent to them, not 3 out of the 11 like you claim.

What a silly attempt at a calculation. You did not take into account the population size differences between each of the countries polled. You did not take into account the percentage of Muslims who support other terrorist groups like Al Qaeda (Muslims might hate ISIS because they are enemies of Al Qaeda, their rival).

Even if we assume your numbers are correct (which takes work because they are not reliable), barely a majority of Muslims rejecting a group like ISIS is not a strong argument when you are pushing a narrative about the "overwhelming majority of Muslims" rejecting the group, and Islamic extremism. 64.5% is not an "overwhelming majority".

    - - - Updated - - -

15-20% of Muslims across the Islamic world are extremists. Watch Ben Shapiro's video posted earlier.

    - - - Updated - - -

MOD EDIT - Rule 3 I posted the entire Pew Research article over into the OP.

    MOD EDIT - Rule 3

But. . .IF I had not been sarcastic and was saying that 72% were "in favor" of ISIS. . .first it would have been totally at the opposite of what I believe. . .and second, I would have done nothing more than you are trying to do now. . .that is, including those "UNSURE" with those who "FAVORED!"

64.5 % rejecting extremism and 20% not sure is an overwhelming majority who DOESN'T support ISIS! Especially if that overwhelming majority is INSIDE Islamic countries!

So. . .you are STILL arguing against the TITLE of the source that YOU Provided, and that others have confirm was a reliable source, with reliable statistics?

    Remember that title?

Conclusion: Trump's strategy of bombing the enemy out of existence would only produce 28% collateral damage in Pakistan.

The objection is that the poll excludes much of the Muslim world. In fact, it skips the two nations with the largest Islamic populations.

    What "arrangement" doesn't makes sense?

In OUR view, religion should be separate from government. That is one of the most central improvements on government made by the west.

Yet, we are overemphasizing the position of religion in the conflicts we face in the ME.

The vast majority of Muslims are on OUR side. Even the poll you posted proves that.

We should be the ones encouraging a non-religious view of this conflict for several reasons.

First of all, it isn't correct. We would object to ISIS regardless of whether they used terrorism or declared themselves to be religious. If they did neither of those, we would still be totally opposed to them. They are dividing Iraq in a ferocious civil war and are creating havoc in Syria. Their objective of carving out a new nation is not acceptable.

Second of all, we aren't going to change their religion. If it is a religious war, then we can not win. We need this war to be defined in such a way that we can win.

Third of all, there are very concrete reasons for these wars that do not have anything to do with Islam v. Christianity. We need to understand the root issues, or again we will not reach a peace that we can accept.

I already said you did. . .but you chose not to post the TITLE. . . because it didn't meet your need!
And, your COMMENTARY was basically saying the CONTRARY of the results of the research depicted in this article.

And, it doesn't seem that you have provided a % of how many AMERICAN Muslim are supporting ISIS! Well. . .I can tell you that, my gut feeling tells me that less American Muslims support ISIS and terrorism in general, than American Right Wing EXTREMISTS support (and perform) acts of terrors in America!

Give it up. . .I am certain that everyone who bothered to read even half of these posts has already made up his/her mind of what your intention really was.

    Have a nice evening!

No, ISIS is a tiny minority.

Look - you really need to know that. ISIS IS a tiny minority, and that tiny minority holds religious beliefs explicitly rejected by the vast majority of Islam.

For one example, Islam does not accept terrorism.

I'm not required to use the same article as the Pew Research poll. I took the factual information contained in the poll and wrote the title, which as we've determined already, is factual. I don't understand why you are arguing against factual information, here.

Their findings are "contrary" only to people who believe that "64.5%" is an "overwhelming" amount of majority rejection of ISIS. I'm not one of those people.

Well. . .let's look at it this way! NO AMERICAN President has ever been elected with over 61% of the popular vote! I guess we should really worry about that, don't you think so?

I know that ANY candidate would feel and claim that, if they got 64.5% of the vote. . .they were elected by an "overwhelming majority!" Especially if the defeated candidate for the presidency only got 6.8% of the vote! :roflol:

So they reject (vs. "accept") Mohammad, who said "I have been made victorious through terror", then, huh? Please feel free to provide links that show how many Muslims (1.5 million would be 1% of Muslims) have condemned Mohammad for saying that.

Its all about what is around and convenient for the muslim man. If his wife is somewhere els, he may (*)(*)(*)(*) a little boy servant. If he isnt "privileged" enough to have a boy sex servant he may (*)(*)(*)(*) his goat. That many Muslims find pleasure in goats and little boys is a whole other story.

Dude, if Islam was as a whole were moral they wouldn't even need to START a poll in the first place of how many have a favorable opinion of ISIS because it would be ZERO % (like if we ask people "do you want an elephant to squash your entire family", etc.) The fact that they even need to take a poll, and the numbers are at least troubling in many countries, shows that the morality of Islam is at least questionable.

You have never seen polls on "Christians and abortion" or "Christians and homosexuality?"

Have you never heard of Christians terrorists killing "abortion" doctors?

Or heard CHRISTIANS politicians and pastors call for the "herem" of homosexuals?

    By the way. . .I'm not a "dude". . .I am a "dudess"

    Great post.
Yes: "The fact that Taliban militants’ spare time involves sodomizing young boys should by no means be any kind of surprise or eyebrow raiser. That a mass pathology such as this occurs in a culture which demonizes the female and her sexuality -- and puts her out of mind and sight -- is only to be expected."

That's why Mohammad said that the boys in Paradise are like pearls - wink, wink. Yeah, we know what he was promising his soldiers in the after-life who he was trying to get to kill and die to give him booty (in Q8:41 he said to give a certain percentage of the booty they plunder to......to......take a wild guess.....hehe.....I'm pretty sure you can guess to whom.)

Yes, Christianity is as vile as Islam, we agree on that.

So as a "dudess", be glad that you are not Muslim, or your man partner could legally beat you under Islamic Law, per Qur'an 4:34, and he would be considered to "excel" you, and to "be in charge" of you (kind of like if you were a pet, or livestock.)

As if Christian men had not followed the same pattern. . .with or without approval from the Bible! How long as it been in this "civilized, Christian" country since women could vote, women could own property, women didn't just belong to their father, then husband, then sons?

By the way. . .was it Abraham who sent his concubine and the mother of his child into the desert to die once his old wife became pregnant by the "blessing of God?"

I'll have to go look for that little bit of "Christian news!"

Now large swaths of women belong to the state. You folks just cant seem to obtain any substantial independence, can you? Too bad, so sad.

You are 100% right that the Christian texts are just as bad, and in many cases worse, than Islam.

Yep, too bad both Jesus and Mohammad cared so little for the rights of women that it took 1400-1900+ years before women were even remotely treated as equals. If they had cared about your mother (for example), they would have taken a mere 15 seconds out of their lives to say "write this down: the previous stuff this religion said about women was dead wrong - treat them as equals."
Too bad they weren't moral enough, or smart enough, or caring enough to say that. Too bad for your mother.

You have no idea whether the word translated to "terror" in English means our modern definition of terrorism or was considered criminal in that ancient time.

Just like Christianity, Islam does not accept every statement in the Qur'an as being a directive to us today.

Your suggestion of condemning those ancient people makes no sense. The Bible has those problems, too. We don't berate Moses or Jesus or Joshua or others for actions that by today's standards are criminal. Plus, Mohammad wrote in the context of an ongoing war, where his direction in carrying out that war is distinctly different than his direction on how humans on earth should lead their lives. Remember that Mohammad stated that heaven includes Christians and Jews as well as Muslims.

Don't look a gift horse in the mouth. The vast majority of Islam is Anti-ISIS.

So, what are you complaining about?

Well it seems to me that Jewish and Muslim are far worse than Christian ones especially once you remove the OT from the bible. Christians claim god forgave us, Muslims say think again.
