Do you have a clue as to what is involved in that process?

So you posted a false statement and are now trying to walk that back.

Talk about a lack of credibility.

Even if you hate someone to the bone. It is still no reason to assault them in any way. Even if your bad ass self is toting a weapon.

I never said that and if you repeat such BS again you will be reported for posting personal insults.

Probably is the key word here. As it turns out is was just probably a dirty look.

It was not a personal insult. It was a generalization. I never take posting personally. I posted the OP to shake things up a little. Since I hadn't started a thread for a while I thought this one had the possibility to be a real firecracker. I hope it won't be considered trolling. I never said I was against open carry. I just ask why.

By all means, report away chief. I once had a fair opinion of your posts around here but these posts amount to a completely unnecessary stream of invective comments and then you have the gall to whine about being insulted: pathetic. Maybe you need to take a little nap and see if you can't roll out on the right side of the bed.

Someone posted that open carry was easier than a concealed permit. That makes a little sense.

There may be a strategy of inciting an insult and the silencing the opposing point of view. I have often thought about that.

I have been Watching COSMOS with Mr.Tyson. There is a possibility in my mind that the desire....for lack of a better word. ....To carry a firearm is evolutionary. He showed a clip about how the parimeceum defends against its arch enemy. They kinda shoot at them. And after giving it a little thought it is possible that it gives the male of the species the ability to survive and defend a social unit.

And for that you are accusing those carrying of crowding her, not believable?

You know when a child makes up a story we call it a fib, when a young person does that we call it a lie, but when a adult does it we call that inexcusable.

You have changed your story so many times it is inexcusable and now must be taken as BS. .

All I can say is that there was no power outage here in Texas wher I live. All your BS notwithstanding.... there was no outage here. I live on the Texas coast and we never had an outage. No one died here... your BS is simply... BS. Folks may have died in Idaho... maybe even Sri Lanka... but we had no outages here... and no deaths. No stop reading some magazine from NY and understand... I WAS HERE... no outages... no deaths. Now stop it.

    From the OP:
Of course my wife was offended and probably made a snide comment or something
What gives his wife the right to be rude to these people?

No, she wasn't. I assumed she made a comment because she does that sometimes to me. The description of the women with the pistol in the back of her pants makes me wonder. Did she think it looked cool? Does she hold the weapon sideways when shooting? Or....were they some kind of security? I have seen younger dudes with handguns that worked for security. At least that is how it looked to me. Or off duty police? And I imagine some folks open carry just because they can. And the person that secretly wants to become a hero or a person that secretly wants to shoot someone. All kinds open carry I guess.

    That's what would worry me.
How do you tell a good guy with a gun from the next mass shooter?

I guess law enforcement would have profiles of mass shooters and that could possibly tell you what to look for. There are places to avoid. Places in Birmingham Alabama have gunfights over local baseball games. And some places a person would only go to buy drugs..or illegal firearms.

Were they 'intimidating' her before or after she 'made a snide comment'?

There is precisely zero objective difference between someone carrying a visible firearm and someone concealing a firearm. The difference is only in the perception of those around them. Preferring that people hide their weapons is no different than preferring they hide their sexuality, politics, religion, culture or ethnicity. Its born of an inability to be tolerant of others that are different.

Mass shooters tend to engage the earliest targets of opportunity. Open carriers are conducting normal business without shoouting at people.
