You're usually better informed than your post here indicates. The Trump-Ukrainian call was only one of a long series of communications between Trump & President Zelensky, wherein Trump was forcing Zelensky to gather dirt on Biden that would affect the 2020 election. It is illegal for any public official to accept political help--including info--from a foreign power. The 2nd sentence of your post is entirely wrong.

I don't know if your conservative news sources played the video of Trump in the White House lawn, publicly calling on China to investigate Biden, but MSNBC played it, & commented on it numerous times. I watched it several times, until I tired of it. It's very real, & illustrates Trump's willingness to break the law if he feels it benefits him personally. I'll make it easy for you. Inviting or compelling a foreign country or its leaders to become involved with domestic American elections IS A CRIME. The way Trump did it is even worse. He committed extortion against Ukraine President Zelensky. It's fine that you like Trump, but it's NOT ok for you to protect a President who violates his oath of office & abuses the power of his office to advance himself over the country he is supposed to be leading.

 

he asked for investigations into Biden and Burisma because it related to meddling in the 2016 election.... This is not the same as looking for dirt to influence 2020..

 

that may be how the dems are using it but that is not the purpose of impeachment.. the purpose of impeachment is to get rid of people who committed serious crimes or who violated ethics in such a way as to compromise America.... neither of which occurred.

If everything the dems say is true even then nothing about America is compromised..

Except for the fact that those had already been looked into by American intelligence, & found to be untrue. Those still claiming wrongdoing here are simply sycophants of Trump trying to create doubt with a conspiracy theory already dismissed by official authorities. Investigations by the CIA, the State Dept, & the U.S. military, all concluded the same thing--that Russia was guilty of interference in the 2016 election--not Ukraine or any company connected with Ukraine. Trump admires Putin & Russia, & wants to transfer that blame over onto Ukraine, to help Putin. But his efforts are all based on falsehoods & Trump's own affection for authoritarian rulers like Putin, & Russia itself. It's sad that he's used his time in office for such nonredeemable efforts.
