But wait - he signed the confession -- therefore he was guilty, just like the black guys in the Wilding case. Remember how your fellow right wingers were celebrating their "conviction" and how racist Rush Limpball spent a week talking about how the case proves blacks are all out to rape every white woman they could find? Years later when it was discovered that they were innocent those same critics remained silent for some reason. Well, since we have a signed confession then it proves this guy was as guilty as sin. After all, we don't apply double standards, do we??
It's the perfect example of the typical privileged white American who travels abroad, does something illegal thinking they're above the law and finds out quickly that they're not and is aptly punished for it. It helps to know what these countries are like before traveling to them and he didn't heed any warnings, especially since North Korea is insanely hostile towards outsiders but he went anyway.
Because more often than not it's white people doing these sort of things, like I said "typical privileged white American."
So you are posting in support of racism? America is a mostly white nation, guy. It is what it is. What are you talking about?
Really? You are saying the hostages big problem is that he is white. About 4 times now you have said the issue is his whiteness. Why not be non-racist instead? Most of America is white. It is what it is. That is not a crime.
Huh? Him being white wasn't the problem, him doing illegal activities and thinking he was above the law was the problem, especially in a foreign country that hates us.
You have repeatedly taken the stance that he is white. Why are you bringing his race in to this? Do you not understand that it's racist to judge people based on the color of their skin? Why not judge them on the content of their character, instead?
In this case Warmbier never lived long enough to outgrow his liberal snowflake culture. Too many liberals see America as the bad buy and think the north koreans are actually nice people who are being pushed around for no reason
^ can't do the time? don't commit the crime ~ this is the motto of many deluded right wingers. strangely they have failed to apply it in this case double standards, much??
For one, I've yet to see the average non-white person go to North Korea, act like they can do whatever they want and find out that's not how it works. Secondly, the content of his character is what got him locked him in the first place and he never even bothered to learn how things run in North Korean society and what happens to criminals, but he went and did illegal things anyway. Compared to various examples of white people doing worse over here in America and even receiving either light sentences or none at all. That's why I say check your privilege at the door. Made worse by the fact that some has suggested that we should go to war with NK NOW for this one kid's death but not for the various millions of people who've already endured long suffering in the country, many of which are still in prison.
I think warmbier was a stupid college kid. But I don't think he commited any real crime by the standards of civilized modern western society Like many from the academic world he simply did not realize what kind of monsters he was dealing with until it was too late
That's all his fault. He was in his 20s I think, an age at which you should learn about the places you visit before going. "Stupid college kid" is not an excuse here.
here in St Paul MN, Philando Castile did not commit any crime except for the "crime" of driving while black - today he is dead and the cop who killed him is a free man
i did some work as a subcontractor for boeing in hunting beach a number of yrs ago and one engineer went to one of his parties. she liked it. that said, i agree he shouldnt be in north korea doing a good will tour
Really? Two of three remaining hostages are Asian. Are you racist against them too? Why not just be something other than a bigot, like you have shown in these comments? I take no issue with you calling him an idiot. He was an idiot. I mean, you could maybe let the corpse get cold before you start in on him but, whatever. My issue is that you repeated are making statements that are plainly racist. Is that even allowed here? It seems like if profanity is not allowed, racism would not be either. But, I don't really know, because I'm not a racist. This doesn't come up really in my life.
Wow racist much, you do realize that goes both ways though right there's many crimes that are heavily dominated by African Americans should we stereotype the race?
That's why I said the "average non-white person." I recall two American tourists jailed for defacing the Colosseum in Rome 2 years ago, so there is some precedent. He's an idiot, but it seems like lots of people are trying to find whatever excuse they can to shift blame from him to someone else. These are the same people who want to wait a while before criticizing him and his family but won't extend the same courtesy to people in America who are wrongfully killed, especially black people and won't hesitate to point out how bad they were or how they deserved their fate. Example: Tamir Rice was a 12-year old kid playing with a toy gun in a park and him being shot by police was his own fault because he or someone else should've known better, but Warmbier was just a "stupid college kid" and nothing more. And for the record, I never said he was dumb because he was white or did he deserve it. There's plenty of racism on this forum on a day to day basis, just look for the right thread and you'll see.
Yeah, how dare people blame his murder on his murderer. Do you also blame women for the outfits they wore while being raped? Note that you are responding to all of my posts, except the one where I show all your racist comments together. It seems you just cannot stop bringing your racism in left and right, so I'm going to pass on further discussion.
MicFranklin Would you like to take a gander at US crime rates, it wouldn't be pretty for nonwhites. All that being said your race baiting and I'm having no part of it, your the problem not the solution as always.
