You could say it is also anti religious as 62% are religiously affiliated

Which is actually when the majority of abortions occur with later abortions often due to delay in access or affordability. If “medical” abortions were subsidised then we would see the average time drop further

As I said earlier, they are for big gov't to force people to live like they want, talk like they want, and act like they want.
They hate people thinking for themselves.

If contraceptives were subsidized, like the free IUD program Colorado piloted a few years ago, the need to worry about abortion would drop as well. But the forced birth fetishists think that birth control is anathema as well.

Meanwhile, abortions have guaranteed 60,000,000 people in our country will never think...at all, they've been killed.

    It’s a vicious cycle.

    1. refuse to explain sex to horny teenagers.
    2. Blame girl for pregnancy.
    3. High five boy who got girl pregnant.
    4. Force girl to be an incubator.

Absolutely! I have posted graphics on this time and again only to either see them ignored OR and this one is a doozy! Have them say they “don’t want to subsidise someone having sex! “.

Though, when you look at the stats teens are only a small percentage of abortions The vast majority are women in their twenties and thirties with more than half already having children. The reasons are varied but I agree about seeing the high five given to the men whilst the women are labeled as sluts

I have a much bigger problem with educated women getting an abortion. My personal desire is eight weeks. The thing is, I’ve never had unprotected sex, even with my husband. I don’t want babies. If you know better, and don’t do the needful, that’s an issue.

I still prefer choice, but grown women with babies, who want no more babies, doing things that create babies? Blech.

Well no actually. It was not my post you called misogyny. I was just trying to help you out, noting the post you responded to was likely a bit of satire, i.e., "birth person" being a clue.

How many abortions are there annually in the U.S? Over 800,000 unborn babies killed in the womb?
How many women die annually in the U.S. due to maternity problems? About 700?
How many of those deaths due to maternity problems every year in the U.S. are actually the result of botched abortion procedures? 5%,? 10%,?

So you think conservatives practice groupthink more than the left? Why do you suppose most of the virtue signaling comes from the left?

I am conservative. Certainly a conservative by the standards of PF and I have been told many time here that I am an extreme conservative. Yet, I don't give a flying [expletive] if anyone walks and talks like me or comes out of a closet or stays in a closet. I don't care what sort of sex consenting adults have. For the most part I really don't care if anyone gets an abortion. Just don't practice infanticide as VA Dem Governor Northam proposed and be honest. Pass laws that allow abortion as are currently in place in many States. And don't pretend the 14th Amendment had anything to do with abortion.

The problem you people seem to have is that you conflate conservatives that want to limit the role of government with religious fundamentalism. Sure there is overlap. But there are a range of viewpoints among conservatives. The left on the other hand seems to march in lockstep. No more of the real classical sort of liberals concerned about rights, free speech and the like. The conformity of the left is reminiscent Of Maoist Red Guards. My two cents. I realize opinions differ.

The reality of this abortion issue I believe is an engineered deflection away from the total economic failure of the Joe Bide administration

The biggest issue is education alright, remembering that the Republican Party wants and has pushed for “abstinence only” as the only means of birth control. But I cannot tell you how many members on this board I have had to educate around contraception with the biggest knowledge deficit in relation to LARCs. I shake my head at the number of people who think condoms are a reliable method of birth control and I will post the stats one more time because maybe it will get through to these members who are so misinformed
    upload_2022-5-5_16-35-46.jpeg

Colorado shows how effective support of LARCs (Long Acting Reversible Contraception) can be

    upload_2022-5-5_16-37-32.jpeg

Colorado has reduced its abortion rate by over 40% - far far more than legislation, lectures or moralising has ever managed to do

    Ye Gods but YES!!,

I haven’t seen any - want to point some out?
And yet this controversy was started by conservative judges and you are right in that irt is not going to hurt the Biden administration but that is not the Democrats fault - it is because Republicans have been flogging this dead horse for years and now the carcass has finally fallen apart and the maggots are crawling away

Potential maybe people are more important than real living people? At the moment virtually no maternal deaths are a result of “botched abortions” - at the moment - that will not last

Can't make much sense - cept for the last part .. where you hit the nail on the head .. but are so far off the mark.

    1) I am a believer in "Republicanism" - the founding principles - and those of a Constitutional Republic. Forcing religious belief on other through physical violence aka "The Heavy Hand of the State" is an anathema to all of the above .. Full Stop.

The violation - is akin to the lefts use of "utilitarianism" as sole justification for law .. and in fact it is a utilitarian argument in a way .. but worse .. is "fallacious utilitarianism"

    2) Biden could not have dreamed a better dream - deflecting from not just his economic failure .. but the Blue disaster in general . Nazi Vax Mandate .. speaking fallacious utilitarianism... and so on.

but your so off the mark - as is moron Republicans making this happen .. desperate to shoot knees out with shotgun.. betting on a horse race where opponent shoot's his horse .. dumb and dumber..

All Red had to do was sit back and do nothing .. give Blue all the rope in the world .. just let the disaster unfold . unhindered. On this basis alone .. these folks are just too stupid to be in office... Who was pieces of human garbage said you had to be anti-Abort to be Republican . .. did you want me to tell you .. or would you rather hear it from the "Godfather" of Conservatism ..

So Mr.Conservative ... who is the RINO in the room ?
Tell me mate .. Got Two Conservative perspectives in the room .. don't match .. Who is the RINO ?

In the ideal world, the ability to have self sustenance for her and the child to give birth(should she so choose.) But the way I see it, if abortions are going to be had anyway, then having them legalized and codified obviously makes them safer. The prohibition argument applies. And I think there should be less emotional ties to the argument in the sense that many more children/families will be born than lost to abortion.
