Overzealous Texas cop runs wild at pool party

That's what happens when you get out of line.... When my puppy gets out of line ( i.e jumps on me), I show her the newspaper I rolled up that she knows will pop her if she does wrong. When I show her, she straightens up and will obey me. If I don't discipline her, what's going to happen if she's gets out and jumps on a stranger? Just as my kids are taught to respect people, so shall my animals be taught to respect people. If they're not taught properly, they might have run ins like that with the police and then I'm the failure.

 

The more I watch this, the funnier the barrel roll gets! Hilarious! My gut hurts.

 

By that token, couldn't the assumption that mostly blacks live in S8H, or are poor, or are on Gov assistance, be just as racist? I don't know about stats, and I am not sure what they call it in Appalachia, though.

many showed up that weren't invited they was told to leave they refused and an altercation broke out who started the altercation? we don't know that is why they cops were there was to find out but no they couldn't they had to deal with a dozen or more disrespectful brats that refused to disperse after being told repeatedly over and over again

 

I'm not sure about the actual stats (will look up when I have the chance), but I don't think it's wrong to understand that the perception of being poor tends to equate to being black. True or not, that tends to be the meme propagated by the media.

 

If they weren't invited, they should have had enough respect to leave on their own. Perhaps calling their parents instead of the police would have been the better next step.

I would guess there is some truth and fiction in there, but really that doesn't even matter, it was the cops behavior that is at issue here, not the kids being kids

The cop was clearly out of line, hence why he's been suspended pending termination and the girl was released into the custody of her parents. Even as he pulled his pistol, another cop grabs him by his arm, which he just pulls away from.

No it's not. It's like telling a white kid to go back to his trailer park because of how he looks. That's making fun of people for being poor which is far from racist. You can't disagree with a black person without being called a racist these days.

If you think a person is in (or belongs in) section 8 because they are black (which, being a pool party in a generally well off neighborhood, would be the only identifier), then that's racist.

Telling a white kid in a confederate flag t-shirt, to go back to the trailerpark would be racist/classicist .

Making assumptions based on visual appearance is wrong, no matter which way it goes.

 

My question is, did they cops have to be there? Please tell me that some adults could have deescalated the situation in a civil manner.
Why does everything have to turn into a brawl, why do we need to bring in the cops? If these people were worried about liability, why not use their cell phones to their advantage.

I'm not afraid to admit that I'm not going to say the cops are overzealous until they do this to someone minding their own business. If these people are too stupid to obey the law then that's on them. These kids need to be taught to respect police and adults.
