So going shooting with your dad is suspicious activity now? Jeez, and our kids are taught in school that we defeated the Nazis.

As opposed to the act of under reach by the authorities in the shooters case of this school.
There's a saying, better safe than sorry.
So if the school is a little over protective at the moment, they have just reason.

Sorry given that it was only weeks since the school was clean of the blood and guts and brain matter of his killed and wounded classmates going to a gun range and taking pictures of himself with a gun he was willing to share with others is not normal in my reality at least.

Not a crime but something it would do no harm for those who look after the security of the school to look into.

But what was the probable cause?

To some who had just survived a mass shooting, yeah, this kid posting pics online obviously seemed a little odd to them. Luckily, the police did their job, determined that there was no threat, and closed the inquiry. Yet, still here you are, whining about it.

At school Monday, students reported their concerns about the tweets. Soon after, according to an incident report from the Broward Sheriff's Office, Kashuv was questioned by a school resource officer and a deputy. Kashuv told them he'd gone shooting with his dad and hadn't threatened anyone. His mother, Uzi Kashuv, was contacted and confirmed his account of what happened.

"She stated he's a good kid and wouldn't hurt anyone," the report says.

Deputies filed the report as "information only," meaning they didn't find that Kashuv had broken any laws. Nadine Drew, a spokesperson for Broward County Public Schools, says in a statement that after staff and school administrators looked into the tweets, they were determined to be nonthreatening.

Nothing came of it. Just followed up on as a concern classmates had about some twitter posts.
Again, precautionary. Over reaction? Maybe, but that wouldn't be known until questioned.

Nutjob Cruz had a long well documented history of instability and threat making.

Kashuv has a history of advocating safe and responsible firearms use.

They could argue the benefits of spying on student's social media, but dragging a kid in for interrogation that included police without paternal consent or presence crossed a massive line.

Furthermore they demonstrated a particular bigotry towards Kyle by labeling him "that 2nd amendment kid".

And I still want to hear justification for why a radical hate filled bigot like Hogg, who has access to firearms and has all the signs of being a troubled kid under pressure waiting to burst, isn't also being interrogated.

Kyle's civil rights were grossly violated, there is no way to rationalize that.

Land of the free and the home of the brave.

So a kid going shooting with his dad is probable cause. This is where we are as a society. Amazing.

So no answer to my question of what was the probable cause. Just an ad hom. Not unexpected.

So, now authoritarian actions such as these are justified because they dropped the ball on Cruz? Cruz did several things wrong that the police decided to overlook... on many many occasions. What is it that Kyle did wrong, or illegal, in this situation to cause probable cause for this police action? Be specific.

The kid wasn't spoken to until they received complaints. So, yeah, there's your probable cause.

I repeat, however, that NOTHING CAME OF IT. NOT ONE DAMN THING except an excuse for you to spend 12 pages on PF whining about it.

What else do you call a child being dragged before adults including law enforcement and interrogated (without parental consent or presence) because he posted a benign picture of himself doing a perfectly legal thing?

Hmm, that car in your avatar ...hmm.

You know, a car was undoubtedly stolen at some point in the city you live in.

Lets say they haul you in, treat you like a criminal, and drill you with questions because of that avatar photo?

Complaints? What crime did these complainants accuse him of doing?

It’s a legitimate question. What is the probable cause in this particular situation?

    Where are you reading that?

I read that the private security was tasked with scanning social media.

There was nothing to respond to. What supports that point is they didn't respond to anybody else at that gun range that day.

Idiots make stupid complaints. The police are professionals (supposed to be anyway) they should be able to tell the difference between idiots making stupid complaints and legitimate concerns. Obviously they are incompetent in both arenas.

****ing morons make Barney Fife look like a consummate professional.

They could have determined the same thing without questioning anybody. They did just that with every other person that was at that gun range.

None of this has anything to do with the discussion.

Retard police that let a person murder 17 people in a schoolhouse. They are clearly incapable of addressing what a threat is.

Good this corrupt police department should be in the public news until sheriff Israel is fired. Corruption and ineptitude should not be tolerated. And if the worthless mainstream media won't report honestly someone does.

Well all you really have to know is the second amendment. I doubt anybody needs to whisper that in his ear.

Well not really, he is exposing a problem with police. Hogg wasn't. Hogg was pushing an anti constitution agenda.

There is a big difference between exposing corruption and fighting against people's rights.

So, this funny to you? A kid does something innocuous, gets taken out of class, is questioned by authorities without his parents or lawyer present, and this is funny to you?
How very authoritarian of you. Stalin would be proud.

    No it is not.
It's where some classmates are as kids who had their classmates shot up a couple months ago.
    Nothing happened, but questioning.

You keep saying this but why? Are you a psychologist? If so how is it that you are able to claim that there is something odd about it without talking with the person?

This point you are making seems strongly opinionated and myopic.

If the police can't determine that without questioning him they can't determine anybody at that gun range wasn't a danger without questioning them. So they singled this kid out likely for his political positions.

Nothing should have happened at all. The police should have ignored the complaints, they do this constantly else they would have to investigate everything all the time. There aren’t enough cops on the planet to do that.

Something did happen. This kid had to go through an embarrassing ordeal for nothing. That you approve of this authoritarianism is quite telling.
