Joe Biden once again pandering to the race baiters. There is no evidence it affects Blacks or Hispanics more than anyone else. It affects people who live unhealthy lifestyles like being obese and getting little exercise if any, smoke and drink heavily and refuse to follow the guidelines about social distancing and stay at home and wear mask. If you are white and obese and diabetic as a result and go out and party with lots of people in close contact and do not wear a mask and wash your hands as advised you stand a good chance of getting it to, the color of your skin does not matter.

A good record of not following the law and other rules and regulations and living unhealthy lifestyles...........maybe it's Darwin stepping in.

This was also noted on my FB and locals commenting on the black sections of town they go through and how people were NOT staying in and congregating in yards and on the street. Everything just looked normal as opposed to the white sections of town. They finally took down the basketball hoops in the parks because people wouldn't stop going there and playing and watching.

So why are they doing that? You might not want people to go out and about but they are. Why are they congregating in their yards? Why won't people stop going out to exercise?

I don't speak for them go ask them. It's not about just going "out and about". It's congregating in the neighborhoods in parks and yes even in their yards not observing the guidelines and social distancing.

Go out and exercise but don't engage in contact sports don't ya think?

Have you seen any evidence that Blacks are GENETICALLY predisposed to contract COVID at higher numbers?

Good to know the history of turning everything into race has not changed for some.

To my knowledge no, I figured this was a sociological problem than a biological one. You don’t seem to speak for them, but from the way you write you are morally condoning them. Would you say that is true?

Morally? I said nothing about anything moral. Listen to the news reports from the doctors in New Orleans, they are quite clear the reason they are seeing so many cases is because their majority black population is more obese than others and that causes diabetes and high blood pressure, they don't follow treatment regiments as strictly as other groups and they are not following the social distancing and carrying on as usual. It's not a racial thing it's a social thing within that demographic. It's not that they are black it is because they are obese causing other health problems, that effects white people in the same manner.

Oh sure it's a demographic thing, and you've identified the problem. But you haven't said why. Why aren't they obeying the rules of social distancing as well as white people or some other ethnic demographic. No offense but nobody is disputing these facts, the question is now how do we address these issues with COVID19 as an added problem. Your solution so far seems to be "it's Darwin stepping in.". But if it's a sociological issue, then that's not the answer. It's society that's sick and we have to treat this as a social disease. You can't socially darwin society because the institutions in place that created society propagate the next generation.

You ask questions that make the political left -- trying to make everything racist during a national crisis -- uneasy. You risk making some of them think. Stop that at once!

GO ASK THEM, I don't speak for them, why are you asking me? Why do the address it as a racial issue at all instead of just the facts, people who live unhealthy lifestyles and develop underlying health conditions and then do not follow the medical advice about stay at home and social distancing are more apt to come in contact with and contract and die. It's not about the color of their skin or they being a minority.

Because you are part of the problem and part of the solution. The point of us being here is to talk to each other and figure out policy. If you don’t have a solution, then we can figure one out by talking to each other and finding new connections.

You didn't ask me about a solution you ask me why they do what they do............you'll have to go ask them.....and no I am not part of the problem in New Orleans or the black areas where I live. Maybe you can research it and get back to us. I don't think the solution is "oh they are black and there is nothing they can do about it because it's racial" I'll give you that much.

What was it in response to?
"How can the state convince people in that population to listen to them to change their behavior?" Why can't we convince them otherwise?

You live in society yes? Then you are part of the problem because it's a societal disease. We all are part of the problem and part of the solution. So we have to figure out how to craft policy to help take care of all members of society. I think you're right on that, it's something that can be fixed. It's just something we all have to think about going forward. I don't think you want anyone sick from the disease, so let's think of a good policy.

No I am not part of the problem in those communities they are responsible for their problems and behaviors. I don't have to be "taken care of by society" why do they? I don't need to be fixed and don't expect society to come fix me.

Society already takes care of you, why are you ignoring that now? Think about all the things that go into society that gives you something. Something as small as the light at the intersection to the language we speak, that's a societal product. You are as responsible to them as they are to you to maintain society. You need to be fixed in the sense that the advantages and abilities you enjoy need to go to other people as well in order to make sure this doesn't keep hurting society as a whole.

    Struck a nerve? Good.

Be sure to tell the black emt workers, nurses, doctors and other medical personnel how you feel about them. If they race discrimination and profiling from people like you, they brought it upon themselves.:floating:

What advantages do I have and nothing was ever given to me nor am I taken care of by society. Your fixing makes no sense. I'm following the social distancing which lowers my risk exponential. I don't do it because I'm white. I did not create the problem in the black community. You ask what to do about it, how about stop trying to shift blame.

150 members of the Saudi Royal Family have Covid-19. It has to be because they're poor and black.

    Oh for f**k's sake

Nobody is forcing blacks to have unhealthy lifestyles / be fatter, nobody is saying they are excluded from social distancing, and nobody is saying blacks can't wear face masks. They can take the same precautions as anyone of any color. If the black community feels like they're especially at risk of COVID19 because of their lifestyles / unhealthy eating habits, lack of social distancing, or refusal to wear a face mask, do you know who is responsible? THE BLACK COMMUNITY.

Acting like blacks are too stupid or undisciplined to adhere to the same precautions as every other race is f**king insulting.

And hey, if there are fat diabetic whites who won't social distance and won't wear masks or whatever the hell else, should we be in an uproar about that too??

    Geezus.

    Two words: personal responsibility.

Some people are just obsessed with race. Some are so obsessed, they'd even delay the financial help struggling Americans desperately need while they grind their race-obsessed political axes.
