They do happen in other countries, its just that in those countries the govt has way more control and so the stories are suppressed so their people think they're safer with govt in control. ...until the govt wants more control, of course, then the stories are amplified so the people think they need more govt control.

Perhaps wave a knife around in the hopes that they wouldn't actually need to use it. Or perhaps just carry a baseball bat because you know it's very normal for a 72-year-old to stroll down the road with a baseball bat....

It's pretty obvious when someone makes a post without putting very much thought at all into it.

Not to mention if a cop was to ask said 72-year-old what he's doing with that bt and the man said he intended to use it as a weapon it might be a crime there as well

My post about Ukraine and French howitzers was an attempt at getting another member to give self defense a little more critical thought. Her mantra is no guns—only non lethal weapons even when outnumbered by younger and stronger assailants intent on murder. Self defense isn’t a game or an exercise in gentlemanly or ladylike conduct. You must use more force than is coming to bear on you or you are not going to survive. That’s just reality.

 

Stop taking race out of the equation. Why is one race more or less important than another?

Yes, it’s amazing some posters are still alive with the lack of critical thought they demonstrate here. You would think they would have walked out in front of a speeding bus or something long before now. It has to be blind good luck they are still here to grace us with their “wisdom”.

We should declare the "Great Society" a failure and end the welfare programs that it created.

We should implement the death penalty for murders. After conviction, only one appeal should take place and the execution should be carried out within a year.

Local police should be given more leeway to clean up crime. We need more involvement of street cops in designing our criminal justice system and less input from liberal academics and shyster lawyers.

And of course Soros should be deported back where he came from.

Yes, howitzers kill.

Having been a member of field artillery, it takes the coordinated effort of the forward observer to give a grid coordinate to the TOC for target location.
Then the fire direction center takes the FO coordinates and has to translate them to the howitzers coordinates. Which then they will give the howitzers height and direction to set the tube to fire. That is based on the type of round being fired.

So, there is a lengthy process to go through before the howitzers can kill. And usually a few adjustments before the forward observer will claim a hit.
