    Well I do not think that has anything to do w/ this case but for the record I do not think that it is "funny" when anyone whether they are LEO or not gets "taken out".

    I do not think this thread is a lie. For what it is worth. I just find it strange or "funny" that LE professional could "accidentally" discharge his firearm while in bed two times. We are not talking about a foolish rookie making a mistake. This is the freaking Chief of Police.

    Of course it is true that we all are capable of making mistakes. I was not trying to defend any thing. Nor am I trying to draw any conclusions about this case. Just giving my take on the word "funny" in the context of this thread.

    Obviously the wife was doing something completely thuggish, like disagreeing with a Police Chief, the heroic husband tried to justifiably arrest her, she resisted and the officer feared for his life. The Grand Jury will find there was no wrongdoing and the Police Chief will be given a million dollars by supportive conservatives. Gloria Steinem et al will probably incite riots

    That's actually possible, and it's precisely the reason that I don't leave mine somewhere I could reach it while sleeping. Have you never been dreaming and awoke to find you were actually physically acting out your dream? I certainly have.

    While that has never happened to me, IMHO leaving a loaded weapon unsecured in a drawer is not smart. Same for behind the sofa, in the magazine rack and so on and so forth.

    If he was sleeping with a loaded gun, then yes this is funny as (*)(*)(*)(*). Because I do find stupid funny. And yes sleeping with a loaded gun with other people in the bed is negligent not accidental, if she dies then its negligent homicide

    The wife is recovering and she's blabbing about how it was all an accident although she was sound asleep when the chief shot her in the back. She's either a dummy or someone if forcing her to cover it up.

    The police chief paralyzed his wife from her waist down. I'll bet he's really ticked off he's such a lousy shot. I see another divorce in their future.
