Exactly right. The current area is designed to limit presidential access to only a few reliable reporters which is how Obama tried to use it. Trump plans on including more not less reporters and from a far wider variety of agencies. Welcome to the brave new world in which Alphabet soup bunch and fox aren't the only one's present.

I believe that President Trump was the one who put the "media" on notice. The old dinosaur socialist papers of the past like the NY Times and the Washington Post among others should be placed where they belong...in the back of the room.

It's interesting how you misunderstood my post so profoundly.

 

What is very interesting is that when the press reports something positive about Trump and his ilk, and yes they do, you never hear a peep out of Trump's supporters. But if the press issues one story critical of Trump his supporters scurry around like mice crying, "Fake news."

Instead of cooperating with the media, gaining their respect and understanding, and respecting the constitutional protections accorded the press, Trump acts as he usually does. He declares war on anyone or any entity which threatens his immense ego and narcissistic behavior. Trump's character and behavior patterns are dismal. He'd make a tremendous subject for a graduate thesis on narcissistic, erratic and anti-social behavior by the wealthy.

Ah well, this country will realize that a self serving fraud was elected President.

Which you are positing is actually possible. The left-wing media is a biased and corrupt enterprise who is going to oppose anything that any non-liberal, non-Democrat does. Trump understands this, which is why he is not participating in their stupid little game. I hope his refusal to work with them accelerates the decline of the left-wing mainstream media and gives birth to better, more objective forms of media.

After 8 years of lying doggo on the floor in worship and protection of Obama, and after a year and a half of actively, and openly working to defeat Trump and elect Hillary, now, NOW they decide they will clean up their act and be fair? They realize they are not trusted by the public? NOW they have figured it out?

Sure. Give me 8 solid years of you fools actually being fair, reporting the facts, showing both sides of issues and not pushing an agenda and maybe I will give you some attention again. Until then, anything you publish I will first believe to be partisan lies and will look to other sources for my information.

 

Trump has no obligation whatever to respect them, to cooperate with them. They abandoned their constitutional duties in the election (and even before) when they openly and actively went all in to elect his opponent and defeat him. The OP said they had learned some lessons, that they will have to earn our respect back. For years and years they have pushed the leftist agenda and abandoned their constitutionally protected role as reporters, not advocates. They will need years and years of fair, honest agenda free reporting to re-institute the trust Americans used to have in them.

I hope Trump wipes his shoe on their backs. They have shown they hate me and "deplorables" who think like me. The feeling is mutual. I will treat every report they issue as lies and partisan crap until I have long, long experience of them being fair, honest and agenda free. They made their beds, let them lie in them.

The "public" includes me. The MSM do not represent me, they are actively hostile to me and my value system and beliefs. They are and have been advocates of an agenda I don't want. They were openly hostile to Trump and remain so. I was hostile to Trump until he won the primary, then I supported him. I mostly support his agenda, particularly re-instituting our sovereignty and stopping the invasion of our country by illegal aliens and potential terrorists and sending them home. And I really, really like his appointees to Cabinet Positions.

Scary to think people hostile to half the country believe they represent the "public".

 

Hold it right there "press corps", I have a message for you from the top. The "press" and most media in America is owned/controlled by just 6 major corporations. Past government rule has failed the American people by allowing these powerful monopolies to form. As a result, the "press corps" are now mostly corrupt, Liberal biased, dishonest, and manipulative, all of which are detrimental to the American people and the entire USA.
