In that era the south drifted off into slavery and an agrarian society as the north rejected slavery and industrialized so yeah at that point the union wasn't strong and was fracturing

Westward expansion, at the time of our founding, included going maybe as far as the Mississippi River.

It was a fluke that we got the Louisiana territory. All Jefferson wanted was New Orleans but the French offered the whole territory.

IMO, Lincoln attacking the South was as detrimental to what the Founders intended as Caesar crossing the Rubicon was detrimental to the Roman Republic.

Iraq 2003 wouldn't have happened if we weren't an American Empire....but then the world could be a lot different if we hadn't entered WWI.

 

Business is business. Why would the South block free trade if the split had been amicable? Blocking the Mississippi would be an act of war.

Next, the Martin Luther King statues will have to be removed, because REVEREND King was a Christian who believed that homosexuality was a sin and would never have approved of gay marriage.

Next, the Mount Rushmore Presidents will have to be defaced because 1. They are white Christian heterosexual males. 2. Washington and Jefferson were slave owners. 3. Lincoln was a white separatist, wanted the slaves to be sent back to Africa. 4. Teddy Roosevelt was a white nationalist.

Next, the Congress, the White House, the Lincoln and Jefferson Memorial buildings will have to be demolished, because the architecture is based upon Classical Roman and Greek architecture and both the Roman and Greek empires were white supremacist racist oppressors of non Caucasian people.

But when the Socialist Democrats and their Chinese Communist support techs Apple, Facebook, Google, etc, finally secure total power over the USA, the statue of Lenin, the murderous totalitarian, will be left to stand proudly hailing the end of freedom in the USA, and new Mao statues will be erected on US college campuses to celebrate the Brave New World Socialist Authority.
