I never once claimed that most violent crimes committed against whites were committed by blacks. Statistically, blacks commit violent crimes at a higher rate than whites.

Actually I agree with Serfin' -- people like Sharpton have demogogued the issue of crime. But that wasn't the matter at issue.

The matter at issue was Thorsson's claim that minorities somehow consistently commit crimes and then claim they aren't responsible. I think Serfin' and I agree that's hogwash.

We cannot make dishonesty a violation because it would leave it up to us to determine what is honest and what is not. Blanket statements about groups ("the tea party is racist", "republicans hate poor people," "democrats want to own your soul", "all liberals are stupid commy statist") are things we cannot we can make a right/wrong judgement on. Now, if it is obvious that the terms are being used to troll and to flamebait, we can take care of it. But factual correctness is not something mods are going to get involved in because the consequences would be disastrous.
