I hear USC and UCLA had great signing days yesterday, but the Buckeyes did as well, and next years national title is already in the bag. Go Buckeyes!

I did read today that Snoop Dog's kid signed with UCLA.:omg:

Yea, I thought Cordell was a sure lock for USC, but Mora must have swayed him somehow.

I think you are right about next years national title. Alabama will win it hands down. :clapping:

Yeah, I understand Snoop has always been a huge USC fan, but showed off a UCLA shirt at his kid's signing.

But to Alabama? Let me use your new favorite emoticon.....:roflol:

That one isn't always my favorite, if I'm talking about Auburn or Ohio State I use this one: :alcoholic:

All that Ohio State needed to become competitive again was a HC with SEC experience and connections that would allow him to recruit SEC players. I expect the Buckeyes to be in the running for the CFP again next year. Best of luck!

My Buckeyes had a great signing day. Flipping Prince from Bama to OSU was nice, he's supposed to be a stud. I'm curious to see what position Gibson actually ends up playing in college.

As for Bama? Cupcakes. 537 yards of offense with our 3rd string QB on a better team than what they'll have next year. Michigan St. will be a good game.

What is an "SEC player" who's never played in the SEC?

A player that is recruited from the SEC region, rather than from Ohio. OSU beat Bama by one touchdown this year. I'd like to see them play again next year!

65 players on this team are from Ohio. 11 are from the "SEC states" of Florida, Georgia, and Missouri, and of those 11 the only ones who saw playing time were Bosa, Elliot, Bell, and McMillan as a backup MLB. Florida is a ACC state now BTW. FSU has owned it for a few years now.

Meyer also went undefeated his first year at OSU with a team that wasn't his.

You come off as uninformed and attempting to somehow salvage the SECs reputation by making ridiculous claims such as that.

Glad to see another Buckeye fan posting here.

On another site, I seemed to be the one and only Buckeye fan there, so took a lot of good natured ribbing. I'm sure on a site this size, there's probably more than just you and me, kronikcope?

You're the only one I've seen around. Mostly SEC fanboys from what I've seen, and a few Texas, FSU fans.

    What a year, eh?

Yes, great year! We have bragging rights until next Fall, and I think OSU has to be the prohibitive favorite to win the title next year. Most everybody coming back!

I was fortunate enough to go to the Buckeyes game at Penn State this past year. They were lucky to escape that one with the 'W'. I've been to many games at the Shoe, but nothing compared to the craziness, noise, and white out at Happy Valley. It was nuts.

No. I'm not uninformed. I see OSU as a worthy opponent with a storied history in CFB. That's why I'd love to see a rematch between Bama and OSU next year. This year's game was an epic contest -- even if the Tide did come up short. Can't win 'em all -- but we can win most of them! ;)

Most Bama fans never thought Prince would sign the letter. He give a soft verbal late in Jan, but it wasn't taken seriously. Would have been nice to have another player of his caliber though.

As for "better team than they'll will have next year", you obviously don't follow much college football other than your own team. Bama had a porous deep pass defense this year, but it should be much improved next season with young players having more experience. Not to mention almost their entire d-line rotation coming back. Alabama could have their best defense since 1992 in 2015.

milo.....looks like you have some company here in NightSwimmer.

You see Swimmer.....milo and I go back (he's a Bama fan and I'm a Buckeye fan) so the Final 4 game between the two was especially a fun one!:clapping:

Haha. The "should be" crowd. Every sports fan in America says whatever sucked on their team "should be" better the following year. No one will have them in the top 5 in the preseason rankings. And that D line? The one that had no clue how to stop a zone blocking scheme to the tune of 281 yards against the Buckeyes? I can only pray OSU's O line gets the privilege of sodomizing that D-line again at the end of the season. God forbid how many rushing yards Bamas D would have given up had our 1st or 2nd string QB had been playing.

Make sure you chime in during the season. I think I'm going to be hearing a lot more "should have been" in December.

If you're informed, don't attach the SEC along with anything OSU did this year. Sounds like a sour fan trying to salvage something from a ass whipping.

Nice. That was a great game. I loved watching Bosa mow over that RB to end that game. I only made it out to the Indiana game this year.

2015 is going to be fun.

I appreciate finding another Buckeye fan here, kronikcope. But....I hope you're not a sheer homer. I personally, wouldn't just sweep 'Bama out of the discussion for '15.

Just a note, though, not that it should change your opinions. I invited milo to the forum ('Bama fan), and so you know, I invited a TCU fan over as well, who likely will be joining discussions in short order.

Now TCU....there's another good discussion. They're still butt hurt over being left out of this year's playoff. But they too have almost everybody coming back, so almost all preseason pubs I've seen, have them #2 to OSU. I actually saw one that had TCU #1 and OSU #2 for next year.

I'm a homer in the sense that I only root on Ohio State...I watch everyone I can though, and don't have a rooting interest for/against any other team or conference. I tend to bet a decent amount throughout the season, so whoever I've got my money on tends to be who I'm rooting for.

Of course, that's what makes us sports fans. If you are not optimistic for your teams chances the next year then you must be a Cleveland fan(Baseball or football, doesn't matter).

I like Bama's chances next year, just like I do every year. Of course with Ohio States recent record prior to this year, I can see why you would have the attitude you do. :rock_slayer:

That's what makes sports fun! I have no problems with Kron, I'm always good with a true sports fan being into their team. Especially when it's college football.

Huh? OSU went 12-2 last year, and undefeated during the 2012 season. Prior to that, under Tress, they were the winningest team during the BCS era and won more BCS games than any other college program...so, what are you talking about?

I'm a Buckeye...outside of Buckeye football and wrestling, I don't really have a dog in the fight in other sport leagues. I'm from central Ohio, so Indy, Pitt, Cincy, are just about as close as Cleveland.

Well, of course, the Froggies should have been ranked No. 1 as they were in the Way To Early poll . Very nice recruiting season. But the impact of this year just past seems to be on next years class. Already got commitments from 4 of the ESPN Junior 300. I was worried about this class having no running backs or not much in the defensive line, until I saw the redshirt list. Quite a few good players coming in for next season. Analyst Observations I have seen are that in any given year, most of a teams commits remain loyal and stay with their original team. Also, kids are committing much earlier now than in the past when most actual commitments were made in the last month or two of recruiting season.

In any case none of this matters in the long run because you don't really know how kids will turn out. Locally it was pointed out that Texas 2012 recruit list was ranked number 3 in the nation with several 5 stars and the number one running back in the country. Jonathan Gray was that back and he really hasn't shown what was projected for him. Meanwhile, Paul Dawson of TCU comes in as a 2 star 6' 180 lb wide receiver and graduates as a 6'2" 230 lb All American linebacker. Player development and the character of the recruits is as much or more of a factor than the initial out of high school rating on them. Devonte Fields is all Big 12 as a freshman, projected All American as a sophomore then gets kicked out of school for harassing his ex-girl friend.

You never know. So, let the games begin. :cheerleader:
