And as I've read a few other posts in the thread.
It's not the state, its the city of Phoenix.
And there is no discrimination, they are suing? So that in the future, they can discriminate if the situation arises?

So, a left handed person would be served, and a right handed person would be served.
But if a married couple, where one was left handed and one was right handed, would not be served, because their kids could be sinister. And that is somehow different?
Note: look up sinister and left handed.

Correct. They also want to be able to explain to customers and the public why they can only create art consistent with their beliefs about marriage, which the law currently prevents.

And do you have any examples of this happening in businesses?

So from reading the OP, what control and how much control would you say that I want a state to have over a city?

They can state their beliefs to their hearts content.
But that doesn't give them, or anyone a right to break a law. Now, they can try to change a law, which they might be doing.
But that still doesn't make them a christian. In fact, it is less Jesus like, and less christian.

I think there are passages about passing judgement. And there is only one judgement day, and one judge. For that one judge only truly knows what's in the hearts of a person.

I just showed a judge doing it back then, that shows how widespread it was back then... it's wrong regardless if it's against inter-racial couples then or intra-gender couples now

    Complete.
For what would be a reason that the state shouldn't listen to every single citizen of the state to enact a law they want?

Yes. Would this mean that the business owner has a problem with left handed people?

become a private member only business and they can do that... what they want to do is pose as a business open to the general public when they are not

Then they have no business, using public forms to run such a business.
Like streets, sidewalks, garbage collections, etc.
They go private and use no public services to run said business.

One uses the public sphere, one abides by public rules.

Of course it doesn't, but they're not saying that they should be exempt from breaking the law.

    This is what they're doing.

    Why is that?

    Do you believe this yourself?

Sure they are. If not, what are they saying?

Within their right. But they have to abide by the ruling, if they want to keep their public business license.

What true Christian thinks they are so much better than another to discriminate/ridicule another human?

Yes, I believe there is only 1 judge. And that judge will do the judging come judgement day. You nor I know the true heart of any other human.
Are there not passages that state such a thing? I think there is.

Are you under the impression that they are not private businesses already? If what you're getting at is a private CLUB, then how do they not use certain public services?

Is a bakery classified as a private business?

Do you think that they should be able to deny service to racists?

There are many things in this world that still allow one to discriminate.
Like redheads. There is no law that says one can't discriminate against them.
But, our country was ripe with discrimination against people of color, blacks in particular, that kept the country from being cohesive. So, we as a society, decided that was wrong. And since the black discrimination issue, have added some other groups. Women, LGBTs, etc.
Right or wrong, that is what our society, decided.
Will that alway be the case, likely not, but laws rarely get taken off the books, they just get ignored when they become irrelevant.

Can you quote where I said that?

    Can you rephrase?

nope, if a racist wants to buy a pizza, burger or a cake, and you sell them, sell it to them

'judge not, lest you be judged' - Matthew 7:1

interesting that the businesses doing the judging are the ones being judged - guess they missed this wise advice

You set your business up as such.
I believe the golf course that holds the Masters Golf Tournament, was/is such a place. Until Tiger Woods, did not allow blacks and perhaps even women.
And they could do so, but then, money and public pressure, made them change their rules. I don't think the law did.
    Augusta National, I think.

That there should be protections for business owners who do not want to participate in same sex weddings. Remember, considering that these wedding service businesses are happy to serve gay people, it isn't even discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation! However, the idiots that sit on civil rights commissions can't see this.

How exactly are these businesses discriminating and ridiculing?

    You're a Christian?

Sure, only if the intra-gender couple demand that they participate in their wedding!
