The numbers in the generic poll are just this side of making Republicans cry while letting Democrats grin.

However, we are some 40 days out from elections, and a number of matters could slide the whole thing one way or another.

Oh yeah. And the kavenaugh thing can cut both ways. But the Turtle and his eleven white men know they have no choice but to confirm this guy. They'd have to have a really yuuuuge reason to back out now.

If the GOP keeps a working majority in the Senate, then it is a win for McConnell and the GOP in the Senate and the far right.

If the GOP loses a working majority or even the majority in the Senate, then it is a huge moral victory for the far right. The down side of that is that two conservatives placed in SCOTUS may cut the verve of the far right to vote in excitement in 2020, which may end up a massive Dem year if Trump keeps a'tumbling along.

Trumps approval on RCP has been on a tare lately.

He’s currently at one of the best ratings he has had since President.

Gonna be interesting to see how the votes go

If this is the best for the GOP in some time and still 13 points behind, oh boy!

The Democratic Party and its' associates. MeToo, BLM, etc.
are giving the GOP a favorable rating by comparison!

    The Democratic Party.
Ever able to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory!

Both houses of Congress will remain GOP.
Blue Wave, "Not hardly", John Wayne, Republican

Unlike the Hillary defeat, this will not come as a surprise to Moi.

Congress sits at about 19%. If the GOP had rallied around Trump and got most of his agenda through quickly, instead of infighting over nonsense, the GOP rating in Congress would be much higher.

IMO, the GOP blew a golden opportunity to cement their rule and to increase control in the Senate and in Congress.

But I still see a nice red wave coming and it should be a pretty nice 4th quarter to 2018. :)

This. At a minimum, few seats will be lost and the margin in the House will possibly be slimmer, but still in GOP control. The Dems were foolish in Ford-gate, and in their latest outbursts.

Yeah, you might want to update that

HOO BOY: DEMOCRATS’ ARIZONA SENATE NOMINEE CAUGHT ON TAPE BASHING…ARIZONA.

The “crazy” lines aren’t helpful, especially when she attributes her state’s supposed insanity to one factor: “They’re called Republicans,” eliciting laughter and applause from a leftist crowd. Remember, she’s trying to run as a moderate, cross-partisan uniter. Part of her potential victory coalition must include a chunk of Republican voters. But the most brutal line is this one, delivered in an out-of-state speech to liberal activists:

“I want to talk to you about some of the things that I think that you can do to stop your state from becoming Arizona.”

Sinema is asking Arizonans to elect her to represent them. She thinks they’re crazy people and that other states should go out of their way to avoid being like her own constituents.

    Sinema:

Last month CNN reported on the anti-war group* which Sinema co-founded in the early 2000s. The group promoted itself with flyers which depicted a U.S. soldier as a skeletonwith a machine gun and which encouraged people to resist “U.S. terror in Iraq and the Middle East.” Sinema claimed she hadn’t drawn the flyers and didn’t approve them but another poster featuring a black tank with a US flag which read “STOP the OILigarchy” featured her personal email address as a point of contact.

Sinema is currently presenting herself as a centrist Democrat who often doesn’t side with the far left. This interview is from a month ago. Her pitch is that she’s running in a purple state and party labels don’t really matter to Arizonans. In other words, please don’t hold my party label against me.

I guess I'm just afraid to believe good news or bad news about polling. Up until election night in 2016, I believed Hillary Clinton would win the election handily.

So now I just wait and see. No predictions, and if the polls are positive, great. But still, we'll see.

And the whole country can see it

Cocaine Mitch serves the Democrats two bumps of Hate.

Today, McConnell spoke about the behavior of the left during the confirmation fight of Judge (now Justice) Kavanaugh. You’ve heard most of the details before. He references running Ted Cruz out of a restaurant and "attempting to shout over" Senators in the Senate Chamber. He then notes that Hillary Clinton and Eric Holder seem to be egging the protesters on, rather than trying to settle things down.

"Remember these comments come less than a year and a half...after Republican members of the House and Senate were literally shot at by a politically crazed gunman," McConnell said. "Just these past days there have been graphic death threats, Senators and staff have needed extraordinary police protection, and the Democrats calling for more incivility and more rage," he added.

"Americans with strong opinions on both sides of last week’s debate spoke up in a civil, respectful way and our nation was better for it. But look, only one side, only one side was happy to play a host to this toxic, fringe behavior," McConnell said. He continued, "Only one side's leaders are now openly calling for more of it…And I'm afraid this is only phase one of the meltdown."

    He's doing a little #OwningTheLibs there.

Messes with me how you can demonstrate things so clearly at times, and so ignorantly at others.
