So you are disgusted with me and my conservative intolerance with moderates and you did not vote at all in the past FIVE presidential elections? So why did you not vote for Romney for example?

Jr. had to do with his obvious failures in business, lack of anything remotely conservative republican, and inability to use the English language.

Dole I almost voted for....but he simply did not compel me to the polls.

McCain I would have easily voted for.....if not for Palin.

Okay.....It makes no difference to me. But, why ask personal questions of someone in the first place?

You voted in a poll for Republicans. You say you are a Republican yet you have not voted for a Republican Presidential candidate for 18 years and offer up the typical Liberal vile to the republican candidates.

Wow, a solid third like Paul? That's hopeful news. It is quite likely that was true of Paul supporters in 12 will be true of Paul supporters in 16: they'll be real active and loyal.

But I think you'll run into some of the same old guff that causes problems for libertarian types. Ron Paul never had a shot in evangelical Iowa or South Carolina, and I doubt Paul of 16 will either. He will likely win New Hampshire, and may have a shot at Nevada, but these early states do so much for momentum in politics.

If Rand Paul (my senator) is the Republican Nominee....they will lose my vote.

Since many Republicans, especially the TPs, are far more aroused by their surfeit of media gas bags than their sordid assortment of actual politicians, why not have a fling with one of them?

One feisty little dickens who has shown signs of crossing the great divide into real politics is currently available:

(Just dismiss any "birth certificate" hoopla as being so 2008-2015!)

I frankly want a conservative candidate like Rand Paul or Marco Rubio but for the good of the party I think its best to get a popular moderate like Christie or Bush who has the potential of beating the possible democratic candidate Hillary Clinton if she runs. Many people do not want to vote for us anymore because of the damage our brand has taken due to the actions and comments the right wing factions of our party have made. So we first need to become "mainstream" and become more moderate and get "mainstream" candidates in office and show the American people we are the right party to lead the nation then we can begin pushing a conservative agenda again.

I want them to nominate THE most Far Right guy they can find, who sticks to it utterly and without ANY "move to the Center"....

that way, when he loses 40+ States, they will stop whining about "If we just nominate a REAL conservative, not a RINO, we'd win"....and they'd have to find some other excuse for a change.

So you want the GOP to LIE and pretend it's moderate....so that it can later push a conservative agenda?

I'm not saying that at all. What I'm saying is you can't run before you learn to walk. The GOP needs to build up that massive voter base it had during the Reagan era in order to start doing well again. If the GOP wants to change the country and follow their ideals they have to lead the country first. And in order to lead the country they must first start winning big elections again. But the current electorate isn't pleased with the right wing tea party so following their agenda is not going to work. The party needs replace right wingers with centre-right and centre candidates who are more sensitive to social issues which the people prefer the democrats position on. Then once they are in power and shown they know what they are doing and can lead the country the party can then recruit conservative candidates to contest in the next election to see if the country wants the party to pursue a conservative agenda instead of a moderate agenda

    LIMBAUGH-COULTER IN 2016!

This would be the ideal ticket for the GOP in order to insure another victory for America.

After all, it wouldn't be much different from this array:

If that is true about corporations, the right wing media SHOULD take Obama to task for his heavy support of corporations resulting in more economic woes for the middle class. The conservatives support corporations also, but primarily in ways that will increase good jobs and help the poor and middle class. The sad thing is that libs are too biased and dishonest to see it.

    Eminently sensible.

My sage advice, which I fully understand will not be taken to heart by those who desperately need it, is:

    1) Abandon the media gasbags that have masqueraded as your surrogate political leaders (not to mention feckless provocateurs, spiritual counsellors and scientific sages.)

(Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Michael Savage, Ann Coulter, Michael Reagan, Neal Boortz, Laura Ingraham, Michelle Malkin, G Gordon Liddy, Hugh Hewitt, Dana Loesch, Kevin Jackson, Dennis Prager, Monica Crowley, Brit Hume, Sarah Palin, Byron York, Elizabeth Hasslebeck, Charles Krauthammer, Mike Huckabee, etc. are entertainers who only play legislators on tv and radio! They don't want you to squander your allegiance on the likes of McConnell and Boehner. )

    2) Offer detailed, positive, conservative policies rather than wallowing in tawdry slimefests and vapid bellywhinging about legislation actually proposed by folks who actually get elected.

    3) Respect the changing demographics. The electorate isn't about to buy your father's Oldsmobile, and the ululations you hear from those Angry White Guys are dirges, the dying sounds of angry men. Do you hear the people sing?

When Paul says cut the military he does not necessarily mean he wants to cut soldier pay and not give soldiers the best equipment available. Rand is for the cutting of overseas spending, by bringing our troops home and not expanding our military too thinly across the globe while applying the resources saved from doing this to the defense of the country.

As for the Republican nomination, I am not sure who I would like to be nominated (I know I don't want Palin or Christie). My main criteria for the nominee is somebody who can beat the democrat in the general election. Now if I had to choose who I wanted to be the president it would be either Rand Paul or Paul Ryan.

I like Paul and Ryan mainly because I believe that they are the best candidates to improve the economy/debt/deficit of the country.

Sidenote: I wouldn't mind seeing Jeb Bush as the VP candidate.
