Evidence that in 1700 the common scientific opinion what that slaves were non-human?

 

The evidence is that they were kept as slaves. You lost this one. The fact is people are judged by the times they live in. There are some people that believe today that cows should be treated as people. I imagine there were some people in 1700 that believed blacks should be free, able to vote, own land and marry white people. The number is very tiny in both cases. LOL

So you can't provide evidence that the common scientific thought of the time is that blacks were non-human. Okay, so we can forget about the rest of your argument.

If you would like to assert that scientists of the 1700s regarded blacks as non-human, feel free to provide your proof.

How do you know people of today do not consider cows to be equal to humans? Please provide your proof. LOL

 

Please provide evidence that scientists (or anyone) today believes that cows are not equal to humans. This is too easy

 

Scientists classify cows as Bos taurus, while they classify humans as Homo sapiens. Cows are not scientifically classified as humans.

 

And prove they are not equals

 

Because Bos taurus is not Homo sapiens. It's a different species.

 

And why can different species not be equals?

 

From about 1600, with the development of science in Europe, racism could be ‘proved’ scientifically. Scientists and philosophers like David Hume could state that Africans were ‘naturally inferior to the whites’. It was widely believed that Africans and Europeans had developed separately. Many, like Sir Thomas Herbert, writing in 1634, believed that Africans must be descended from apes and were part of a separate and inferior race.

 

In the 19th century, racist ideologies were strengthened by ‘fake’ sciences such as phrenology. It was believed that the shape of the skull reflected the character of the person. Phrenologists applied their theory to African skulls and classified all Africans as inferior to white races intellectually, culturally and morally. Phrenology showed Africans to be unsuited to work other than that supervised by white people. In the minds of most, this justified making Africans work as slaves.

 

You paint the stark difference between the view of this country by conservatives and liberals. The Declaration of Independence says:
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.

Conservatives, whether religious or not, believe that we are born with rights and we give power to the government. Liberals, on the other hand, do not believe in Liberty. They think they can use an all powerful government to ration Liberty.

It plays out in more than one way. While liberals were forced to remove physical shackles from their slaves, they created economic shackles for those same people. LBJ admitted that Democrats' intent was to enslave blacks economically so they would vote Democrat for 200 years.

When economic freedom threatened to be a uniform state of society, Democrats decided that they had to control every other aspect of our lives ,,, the houses we live in, the cars we drive, the way we heat, the way we cool. They manufactured the coming Ice Age in 1979 that was going to engulf the world by 1999. When that appeared to be a stretch, they manufactured Global Warming. When the warming stopped, they called it Climate Change, something that's been going on from before forever, and blamed it on us living our lives as free human beings. Liberals have to own as many people who will allow them to get away with their tyranny.

Struggling with that, Liberals took over our healthcare.

 

The study of teleology looked at design in nature. This allowed men to argue that Africans were, by nature, suited to hard work but not to thinking. They were, therefore, obviously made to serve white people. “The Negro in general is a born slave” wrote Sir Harry Johnston, a British colonial administrator in Africa in the 1890s.

 

Anthropology, the study of mankind, looked at such things as the size of the brain and the physical appearance of people. Again, anthropologists could conclude that the African was inferior to the white man, a separate species more closely related to apes than to whites.

 

It seems possible that we may encounter some other sentient, conscious, and rational life form, in which case they would likely have the same rights as human beings.

 

Its posible we already have. Cows.

Morality was just the extension of Og realizing that his chances of survival increased if he could get along with Moog rather than having Moog bash his head in. It ain't rocket science.

 

I'm sure that any sentient, conscious, and rational cow that asks for equal rights will be given equal rights.

 

I think that same request was made of slaves when they were on the slave ships. LOL
