Let's focus on the 90%+ of abortions which are carried out for reasons of convenience, not rape or medical necessity. Also, gestational diabetes is NOT a reason to terminate. In the majority of well managed cases, there is no damage to the mother or child.
The 'unintended' consquences they have to own to on a freaking regular basis. And yes, I do think a significant proportion of it is intentional.
It is more like 95%/ On our local news-some woman was protesting the decision because she claimed she cannot use birth control. She claimed to be married and had four kids. What about her husband? her claim was she should be allowed have an abortion every few months. This is the sort of "logic" we are seeing
Did you know that conception is what makes babies? You seem unable to make the connection here .. as though the babies magically appeared in the woman's belly. Are you like a fundamentalist Christian or something?
But they do, and they've even had it before Dobbs, just to a lesser extent. Your preferred policy hasn't been the law of the land, basically anywhere.
So why not force men to get vasectomies? They can get them reversed when they they are ready to have kids. Or is it only a woman's responsibility ... and if it is, why shouldn't they have control of the embryo?
No woman who is not raped, is forced to do the one thing that makes babies. She does it because she wants to, and knows full well the potential consequences. That's full female autonomy - full ownership of her body and her choices. Let's see you deny that to women.
If only they could choose to not do something that could get them pregnant and lead responsible lives.
That is what I was suggesting. If this woman is married-she had four kids she claimed were hers, and still wants to have sex without having more kids-perhaps her husband should get fixed. It certainly is more responsible than using abortion as constant birth control
of course not-but how many abortions in a life time do you expect a careful woman would expect to have?
Are you seriously asking this question? Great to know your priorities are so reasonable. I mean, our freedom to indulge every passing impulse must be protected at any cost right? **** the planet, **** new human lives, **** the third world and the price they pay for our grotesque hedonism, etc etc. Unfreakingbelievable.
So we have about 100 million people in this country of child-baring age. Contraception is effective about 97% of the time. Average couple has sex about 3 times a week. Basically, around a million of potential impregnations by failed contraception every year. Crap happens.
