Russia is transferring forces even from ... Siberia to the Ukrainian border

When Donetsk and Lugansk asked to join Russia, Vladimir Putin said no, so I don't know what you're talking about. Also to incorporate even a part of Ukraine into the Federation would cost them a pretty penny since Ukraine's economy was way below that of Russia. Also the mines in Donbass were connected to the factories in Ukraine.

The minority that Obama and Nuland put into office in Kiev, are from the Western part of Ukraine that belonged to Poland and then to the Austrian Empire. During WWII in order to form their own country, they joined the Nazis and began killing the Poles. The stories are chilling.

Today these same Western Ukrainians that Obama and Nuland backed, want the Russian lands of Ukraine, and have no qualms about killing the Russians living there the way they did the Poles.

When Putin closed the border and forced the militias to go to Minsk for a peace treaty, the two republics asked to join Russia and he said no. France and Germany guaranteed the peace together with Russia, yet Kiev has not followed through on anything they signed so that the two republics could rejoin Ukraine.

The reason Kiev doesn't want them to rejoin Ukraine is because of the demographics. Most of Ukraine was part of Russia, and feels an alliance to Russia. If those two Republics became part of Ukraine again, then the majority of the people would vote for a non Western leaning president.

So what Kiev wants are the rich lands and minerals of the Donbass, but not the people living on them. That means genocide and ethnic cleansing, something Russia will never tolerate.

So you're saying that when Kiev starts killing the people in Donetsk and Lugansk to ethnically cleanse them from Russian lands, that Putin will back down because of Nato. You people have no idea what you're up against.

Defending the poor Russians in Donbass sounds like Putin's standard excuse for invasion, so you may be on to something if that's what the talk is in Russia and the Donbass. They've used this both in Georgia and Ukraine already.

 

I expect Kyiv wants its territory back from Russian separatists whose thinking has been poisoned by Kremlin propaganda.

 

If Kyiv wanted the Republics back, then why didn't they comply with the Minsk agreement?

 

Putin should have taken Odessa [and the important Port of Odessa] when he took Crimea.

Russia should just take all of Ukraine, and the Baltics while they're at it. Make Russia USSR Again, am I right?

In 988AD Rus Grand Prince Vladimir the Great was baptized in Crimea. Then he returned to his capital, Kiev, to baptize the Rus.

Russia hasn’t taken anything. There are 2 breakaway republics in Georgia, 2 in ‘Ukraine’ and 1 in Moldova.

The people of Crimea held 2 votes, one in 1991 and one in 2014. Both times they voted for independence. The first time they were forcefully taken by ‘Ukraine’. The second they asked to join Russia.

One word - Kosovo. A bit naive and much hypocrisy if you don’t think the people of Crimea shouldn’t be allowed to determine their own fate.

 

Why would Putin want to remove Putin from power?

 

I believe Putin asked himself that question. The answer was no.

 

I havn't seen a single comment from ol' ZC ever on this website that didn't include criticising Russia. Now I'm not saying thats their entire purpose here, but ZC complains about Russia more than I complain about gun control. That should tell you something
