Russia says it doesn't have to share data on nuclear blast, alarming observers

A senior Russian official said the country did not have to share with international monitors any data about a recent nuclear blast that spiked radiation levels in a northern region of the country.

The international monitor at the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization reported Monday that several radiation detection sites in Russia went silent after the accident at a military test facility on Aug. 8. The CTBTO monitors radiation around the world to ensure compliance with the treaty.

    --------------------------------------------------------------
Russia told an agency that verifies a ban on nuclear tests that a military test accident in the country’s north this month was none of its business and that handing it any radiation data was voluntary.

Should we be worried? Yes, because Russia claims that six stations that monitor radiation 'went down' in the days after the explosion of a suspected nuclear-powered cruise missile. Two sites went dark on Aug. 10, with two more stopping transmission of data on Aug. 13. The (doomsday missile) Burevestnik missile, also known as Skyfall, is a missile that has a very long range and can fly low. As it moves it produces nuclear fallout. It's not a practical weapon to have nor use. Russia wants to look like they can end civilization with a button basically, the same thing they said in NK that Kim Jong-Un's father created the sun and he could turn it off whenever he wanted.

    https://www.democraticunderground.org/100212386973
But what is Skyfall? In truth, analysts don't really know, but their guesswork leads them to believe it's a form of cruise missile designed around a nuclear reactor.

Definitionally Russia doesn't have to do anything it doesn't want, right up until the moment foreign troops are walking through the Red Square.

They can either honor, withdraw from or simply ignore international law.

And other than increasingly ineffectual sanctions there by and large isn't anything anyone can do abou, short of world war.

Russia obviously doesn't want to release any information about its newest doomsday rocket. Which is quite understandable. Like the attempts to get this information with the help of another doomsday weapon - Fake News.

I'd put Fox News in the "bore" category far, far away from doomsday weapon.

And that moment will never, ever happen from now until the end of time. To think otherwise is naive to say the least.

Only because those men, like every Russian within 100km of the Red Square, will be dead. Dead men can't walk into and occupy a foreign land.

Ain't gonna happen. Just a reminder of what's on the first page of General Montgomery's war manual: 'Never invade Russia'.

Unless I'm mistaken, no one has given Russia proof of anything they have accused them of, so why in the damn world should they give anyone anything?

The Japanese did in 1941 and like Napoleon and Hitler they were defeated. There's a certain determination and unifying factor in people when they are being attacked unjustly - which is what we are doing towards Russia - not by arms but with our propaganda and sanctions.

Well, if it doesn't apply to the U.S. & Israel why should Russia abide?

I meant in the Russo-Japanese War, the first victory of an Asian power against a European power in the modern era.

It was quite a victory which triggered the government resignation... japanese government. Russia lost some land until the end of WW2. This was the only actual loss.
If we compare Russian-Japanese war and US-Korean or Vietnam war from the point of view of West vs East it will give even more thoughts about the perspectives. But actually I think it is quite misleading. The modern wars are the wars for the money and idelogy no longer is that important. In fact the deteriorationi of ideological wars started with Crimean war, where christian western countries were fighting against Russia and the interests of christians in the Balkans.

Fox news is one of the rockets. I mostly meant the type of weaponry. Mind changing weapon which turns people against each other cannot be named otherwise but 'doomsday'. ANyway it is a metaphor.

My point was that people have won military victories against the Russian bear, nothing more.

I'd identify that with internet clickbait articles, not Fox News.

Every country had its losses. It's quite natural to lose for living people. But in that case Russia didn't lose much and for a long time. If You run the history of russian borders you would see that Russia is constantly 'breathing' shrinking and expanding through the ages. Like every other empire in the worlds history. That's natural.

Maybe they are following the US lead and simply withdrawing or ignoring previous agreements?

Japan won the war, no doubt because they were being supported by Britain who feared Russia's power - the same as they did when they backed Turkey in the Crimean war. Japan though did not invade Russia.

Actually these things go way back to the Schism in the Churches and the 4th Crusade. Western Christianity began developing in one way due to its German-Franc influence, while the East maintained its Greek orientation. There was always friction between the Orthodox and Catholic countries and Turkey knew well how to manipulate it to advance its empire.

The Orthodox countries were always dependent on Russia for protection from both Turkey and Western Europe except for Greece. They were aligned to Europe through Classical Greece since it was considered the foundation of Western civilization and to Russia through its Byzantine one. So when they revolted against the Ottomans, they were helped by the Europeans and Russians.

Russia is like Trump, don't need to tell the public things you don't want to tell them, can even lie to them, who cares and who can do anything about it - just call negative press fake news

Russia has had countless wars against Turkey, and had they won, Constantinople wouldn't be called Istanbul today. Russia didn't lose either or Moscow would have become part of the Ottoman Empire.

The British Empire feared Russia advancing into India, and also taking over the Bosporus, so they helped the Ottomans in the Crimean war. The Austrian Hungarian Empire feared Russia's land power in the West, and that they might take back the Russian and Slavic populations they had conquered, so they forced the Orthodox Slavs to go under the Pope. They would also start a racial and ethnic indoctrination against Moscow to make sure they wouldn't go back.

This is why the Croatians and Gallicians of Ukraine became Nazis, and this is why they helped the Germans in the genocides of Orthodox Christians in Ukraine as well as Jews and Poles - and this is also why the Croatians committed genocide on the Serbs and Jews..
