The USSR is alive and well, but it's not Russia this time, this time the ideologues are in Washington, and the propaganda and control isn't coming from a government owned Pravda. It's coming from the corporate medias and the officials they control in Washington.

The concepts of a one world government and economic system, and the attacks here on Christianity and on traditional morals and values is the same as in the USSR.

No one "attacks" Christianity here, except to call out the Christian bullshit without fear, because we have freedom of speech and freedom of, as well as from, religion. It's nothing like the USSR.

But Putin's Russia, that's another story. Censorship is alive and well, but the old Communist ideal has been replaced by Putinism, and Putinism includes Orthodoxy. It helps keep the proles happy and in line, and faithful in the dictator. It allows the system to survive beyond the death or abdication of any one dictator. The USSR was in trouble after it lost Stalin.

My post was about the change of the war goals. Before the crimean wars people of Europe at least were thinking that they fight not for the money of their elite but for an idea, for justiness, against evil etc. But since the Crimean war this feeling and reasoning changed. This is why World Wars became possible at all. Of course it is only my viewpoint.
