Once the Dems have Congress and the WH, freedom of the press and net neutrality will be restored.

What a silly premise for a thread. The left is waging a full on war against freedom of speech, including on the internet with every major internet/tech company on board with limiting free speech of conservatives, and you worry that because Russia is limiting free speech via the internet, that Trump will do the same. TDS for sure...

I like the idea of making sure domestic user data isn't being routed unnecessarily through foreign networks, leading to security and privacy concerns. Russia can get away with such a test, being such a small fry. Practically no one outside of Russia is dependent on Russia's networks and web domains. We couldn't realistically try that here without a whole lot of pain. Starving certain privacy-invading US corporations of their Big Data for a day would be funny, though.

    That wasn't the question posed.

We were asked if it EVER happened so I answered it.

No moving the goalposts because you don't like the answer.

Try to pay attention, it hasn't been implemented yet, and both houses in Congress are attempting to find ways of stopping it

If it does, you will be one of the first to bitch, will have to pay to get your InfoWars and Brietfart

Ah, if you call limiting white nationalist hate rhetoric, designed and fabricated conspiracies, plus overt Russian propaganda as "war against free speech" you might be correct, but no one is going lose sleep over that one, freedom of speech was never absolute

It's been repealed since Dec 2017....it was an action by the FCC....not Congress. There is no nor has there been any net neutrality Congressional law.

Democrats in both houses have put together legislation to reverse the FCC action but neither were allowed to be introduced in the last session due to GOP control. House is now initiating a new proposal.

Currently, several lawsuits from various States is holding up full implementation

Thank you for admitting you are anti-free speech. Also, just because you label anyone you disagree with as a white nationalist, doesn't make it true.

No buddy it’s full repealed. It was an administrative action when put in place and when removed. When Congress passes something let me know. The repeal has had no negative effect

Interesting Cyberdefense strategy. Seems Putin and his KGB buddies created a brand new lever of global power projection by recognizing and harnessing the disruptive power of social media. Given their history it now seems a natural and inevitable evolution of their kind.

Now they have to figure out how not to get hoist by their own petard. Isolating and controlling input/output seems particularly paranoid but no doubt would do wonders for government control of just about anything and everything.

Another Constitutional lesson for you, no Constitutional right, none, zero, is absolute, they all can be regulated, and the content we are talking about here is white nationalist hate, fabricated conspiracies, flat out Russian propaganda, or something similar

Full implementation is dependent upon several Court decisions stemming from several States' lawsuits, it isn't fully implemented

And if you think allowing providers control access to the content you are available to receive is "no negative effect" well good luck to you, but guarantee you will be one of the first to bitch when you can't get your FOX internet until you pay a certain fee

What are the names of those lawsuits? What stage are they in? It’s been two years. There has been no negative effect.

    For starters,

    https://www.reuters.com/article/us-...ity-rules-idUSKCN1L605W?utm_source=reddit.com

And if you think current services provided by the likes of Comcast, Verizon, AT&T, etc, have a lot to be desired wait till they get full control of the Internet, you'll be crying when they charge you extra to listen to Limbaugh on line

Why, no Constitutional right has ever been found to be absolute and we haven't come close to 1984 yet

I like how you end your sentence with "yet". The left keeps pushing us closer and closer to making 1984 a reality, and you seem perfectly fine with that.
