No military arms were sent to the Soviet Union under lend lease. It was started because Winston Churchill asked Roosevelt to help the people in Leningrad who were under siege and starving. It was not just the people in the city, but also hundreds of thousands of others who ran into it to escape the Nazi advance. It's now believed that over one million starved. One of them was Vladimir Putin's older brother.

The American ships would dock at Vladivostok or Iran, and the Russian soldiers would jump into the trucks and drive thousands of miles to Leningrad. This is what lease was. It was mostly food. With a few small exceptions, the only other aid they were given were the trucks that were needed to deliver the food.

Stalin, in order to keep the war industries going during the Nazi invasion, moved the factories to the Urals. This is also what Putin did with the latest threats coming from the West. When the Nazis invaded they thought Stalin had no more than 5 thousand tanks. It turned out to be 35 thousand... and they were the most advanced in the world.

I read recently that Russia is an expert in deception. This is why I say never underestimate them. If you followed the war between Ukraine and the rag tag militia, you would have noticed that the militia would retreat when they felt it was necessary, and then suddenly trap the Ukrainian army in a cauldron.

Actually, the ones who hate America make no distinction between the government and society. They see them as the same thing, much like the commies in North Korea and the former Soviet Union.

It wasn't America who did that to Iran, it was the US government.

And if criticizing the government means you hate America, then doesn't that mean you hate America, too, since you spent so much time and energy criticizing the government when Obama was the President?

Tell it to the iranians today who use that as their excuse for hating America

The left and the muslims bring it up every time the iranians are accused of hating America

They meaning the persians don't shout "Death to the CIA agents who took away our beloved Mosaddegh! Praise be to the allah!"

Because those Americans are all dead

Instead the crazy muslims in iran should "Death to America!, Praise be to the allah!" Meaning America today

And your government does not assassinates the "evil dictators" that somehow threat your country from other side of globe - your government launches full scale invasions with tens of thousands of "collateral damage" and countries left in ruins afterwards.

And last time I recall I checked right now USA media condemns russians - ALL russians - not just several specific politicians, but a whole nation. Just as before it was condemning all communists - again, not just government of SU, not just specific members of it - but all of them alike. You do not know difference between Khruschev and Brejnev, you do not what the Thaw is, or what Age of Stagnation is, not aware of scandals after Stalin's death, with his illnesses being exposed to peopulation during deconstruction of his personality cult, you do not know about reabilitation of prosecuted, about USSR constitution of 1977 and what changes it bringed, and what effects it had. You do not even know about February Revolution, August Coup, and constitutional crisis of 1993. And these things - are just the most notable ones, that drastically affected society and course the country was going.

And there are so, so much MORE things happening here.. That you know nothing about. You'd be troubled even so say how many presidents are right now in the Russian Federation, and how did it even happened. Or what education system is in place and since when. Or why prices on groceries and other domestic goods there are so much lower than in, for example, Germany and if it is good or bad.

Don't pay any attention to the US media

    They are all fools

    Russia is not our friend

But it is not our enemy either unless it chooses to be

The problem with russia is that putin has delusions of grandour far above what russia is able to deliver

Don't let putin and your national pride lead you into military conflicts that only drag down your country

China hacks us all the time, threatens us with military force if we intervene in their island disputes. What do we do? Business. We can do the same with Russia to avoid conflict. Instead, the alt left thinks we should go to war with them. We can dislike Russia but still make money off them.

You realize what you posted? You said Russia is not our friend unless it wants to be. But in friendships there is an element of respect. In that sense Russia is a friend of all countries, the US included since it doesn't expect nations to go against their own national interests to benefit them... nor does it expect other nations to succumb to their own societal standards. The US does, so it has no friends, only subservients.

You also said that Putin has delusions of grandeur far beyond what Russia is able to deliver. By delivering you mean what is important according to 'YOUR' standards. But no country should have to deliver according to another nations standards...

The reason Russia and Vladimir Putin have commanded so much respect in the world outside of the US and Western Europe, is that it is the only nation able to stand up to Washington with its hegemonic globalist ambitions. Just look at what we did to the Middle East? Wouldn't it have been smarter to back secular leaders like Assad rather than destroying those nations to install Salafist governments to please Saudi Arabia and others?

So tell me what was the gain in doing that? It destroyed millions of lives and destroying Europe as well. Was that the intent? One has to wonder?

Would you believe that if your family was being killed or injured by chemical weapons? I think not so much!

There is no crime here beyond that! Anyone using chemical weapons on innocents deserves to die! I personally believe using chemical weapons - period deserves the death penalty!

I live 5 minutes from I85 in Newnan. I can make it to Hartsfield Jackson in 20 minutes and to Atlanta in 30. My county (Coweta) borders Fulton county.
Metro Atlanta encompasses the counties that share a border with Fulton.

The Bush administration lied their faces off and on the basis of those lies the lives of roughly 5000 US soldiers was ended and tens of thousands wounded. In addition there were over 100,000 Iraqi civilians killed and a country that was a hostile environment Al Qaeda's Islamist ideology became the most fertile of soil.

If you had the capacity to think for yourself and done any serious investigation of the Iraq war you would have already figured this out.

There are more than a few parents who's children were killed or wounded because of the Bush Admin lies (and a whole lot of Iraqi families) that think there were war criminals in the Bush admin.

    And I concur.

Obama and Hillary should be joining that club for arming and supporting Al Qaeda and the Islamist Jihadists that went on to form the modern incarnation of ISIS in Syria. No US soldiers were killed in this one but, this action created the worst humanitarian crisis so far this decade 500,000 dead and counting, the refugee crisis which is spreading the Islamist plague ideology all over the world, and created the modern incarnation of ISIS.

At what point did someone in the "deep state" figure giving shoulder launched surface to air missiles to Al Qaeda was a good idea? How does this not rise to the level of war criminal ? ... just wait until one of these missiles is used to down a civilian airliner .. and watch the massive cover up.

The Cheney scum bucket is a no brainer ... that dude should be rotting away in a dungeon. I will give village idiot (Bush) the benefit of the doubt and say he may have been duped by those around him.

For Obama there is no excuse for the "moderate rebel lie" he had to make up when his Islamist proxy army went off its leash and went into Iraq.

    Get lost.

This is careless and dangerous. Go over and fight them yourself.

Russia is welcomed by Syria. They're ALLOWED TO BE THERE. We are not invited and have frequently been asked to leave. WE HAVE NO RIGHT TO FIRE ON THEIR JETS.

Get a clue, we're the warmongering bully here. If the Syrian population wants a new government, let them handle it. We don't belong in that country.

The invasion Iraq was a mistake and not worth the life or limb of a single US soldier

It was a very stupid decision by Bush but I don't think he was lying when he believed that Sadam had WMD's

We knew Saddam had WMD's ... we gave him biological's and were supporting him and funding him while using chemical weapons against Iran and his own people (kurds)

After Galbraith (Senate committee of some sort) returned from Iraq after seeing the gassed out towns he drafted the "Prevention of Genocide Act" which quickly passed through the senate on a bipartisan basis. This action was to sanction Saddam for use of these weapons/ war crimes.

Reagan threatened Veto and the bill died in the house. Daddy Bush then increase funding to Saddam roughly a year later.

We did not go into Iraq because of "WMD"... nor did Bush lie about "WMD" in general. What the Bush admin lied about was that Saddam had an active WMD program and that this was an "imminent threat" to the Homeland - "in the form of a mushroom cloud" should we not act immediately.

This was complete and utter abject nonsense, deliberate and intentional misrepresentation and false narrative = LYING.

Unlike "N. KOREA", the "axis of evil" who we should have been going after (or Saud who was the country responsible for the Islamist Ideology of Al Qaeda and who supported these terrorists - and almost all the 911 attackers were Saudi and none Iraqi), Saddam had no active WMD program, never mind an active nuclear program. He had dismantled these programs after the first war and had been under an arms embargo ever since. His military technology (that which was left after the war with Daddy Bush) was dilapidated 1960's technology for the most part. His "SCUD" missiles were a joke and moral of his republican guard was poor at best. Our soldiers literally walked through the streets of Baghdad unhindered. (think about this .. .how easy is it to set up an explosive device or ambush on a crowded city street in a big city ?? - never happened)

The sky's over Iraq were in complete control of US/NATO and there were arms inspectors running around Iraq (unlike N. Korea).

The lie was that there was some threat to the US homeland.... and that this threat was worth the sacrifice of 10 lives - never mind 5000, tens of thousands wounded and trillions of dollars in treasure.

The other lie was that we had "legal" authority or justification under international law (UNSC)

In 2000 - Total Military Spending was roughly 300 Billion. After 8 years of Bush this spending increased to over 900 Billion and topped 1 Trillion under Obama. Now (thanks to all those wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan) our defense spending is decreasing. TMS has not decreased but the ratio appropriated to defense has decreased because veterans spending has skyrocketed.

Had we maintained 2000 spending levels (which were plenty enough to defend the homeland) - increasing with inflation - we could have diverted 500 Billion/year over 16 years = 8 Trillion dollars to infrastructure, technology, ramping up our economy to compete in the third millennium and so on.

Instead we threw this money down the toilet to feed the Establishment international financiers who own the defense contractors and the banks from which we borrow money to finance these wars.

Interest on our 20 Trillion dollar debt is roughly 450 Billion/year (add this to the total above and you can almost double it).

It wasn't Saddam that was some big threat to our national security.... It was the Bush admin followed by the Obama Admin who threaten our long term security by funneling money to the international financiers and creating massive debt and trampling on the constitution and individual liberty.

The same is true under Trump. It is not the Russians we need to worry about (or even ISIS for that matter although there is a small threat from these nutters - one that we created by arming them with shoulder launched surface to air missiles and stuff) ..

The real threat to our national security and way of life is from within.

"We" meaning the US government did not give Saddam biological weapons.

Or chemical weapons which are very easy to manufacture from very common ingredients some of which he may have purchased from US companies

I have already agreed with you that the Iraq war was a mistake but you are ranting about it as if were the hot issue of the moment

What does need attention is the nuclear and ICBM programs of North Korea and Iran

I did not say we did.

I did not say we gave Saddam Chemical weapons ? Why are you creating a strawman to divert from the simple point that we knew Saddam had chemical weapons ?

You are still in full on denial mode and have yet to admit to the proven fact that the Bush administration lied their faces off.

Your beloved Bush chose to attack a country that represented no significant threat rather than deal with North Korea a decade and a half ago.

Now we are paying the price for these stupid actions

And you're under the laughable impression the 85% sunnis of syria were in any way represented by the assad 50-year family dynasty robbing them blind? A truly legitimate leader doesn't need the militaries of two other countries to suppress an internal uprising of people who support that leader.

Sure they did, to those who don't have a clue WTF they're talking about.

So you claim none of the jews were ethnically cleansed out of the arab muslim countries? That the egyptian and iraqi riots and pogroms never took place? Thanks for reminding me why I have you on ignore.
