The Labor Department's Bureau of Labor Statistics says a record 155,965,000 people were employed in July, the 11th record-breaker since President Trump took office 19 months ago.

"Our economy is soaring. Our jobs are booming. Factories are pouring back into our country, they coming from all over the world. We are defending our workers," President Trump told a campaign rally in Pennsylvania on Thursday.​

The number of unemployed persons declined by 284,000 to 6,280,000 in July.

• Unemployment rates for adult men (3.4 percent) and
• Whites (3.4 percent) declined in July.
• The jobless rates for adult women (3.7 percent),
• teenagers (13.1 percent),
• Blacks (6.6 percent), and
• Asians (3.1 percent), showed little or no change over the month.
• The unemployment rate for Hispanics hit a record low of 4.5 percent, down from last month's record 4.6 percent.

So, what has he accomplished? He cut business taxes, but screwed up by cutting personal taxes, especially for rich people, ballooning the deficit. Fix health care? Nope. Get the economy growing quickly? No, it's growing at about the average of the Obama years? Increase personal income? No, that's about the same as under Obama, too. Improve job training? No. Rebuild the crumbling infrastructure! Nope. Immigration reform? Nothing. Fix K-12 education? Nothing there, either. Get any new trade deals? No. Renegotiate NAFTA? No. Build the border wall? Nope. Get NATO members to increase defense spending? Nothing more than they were already planning.

 

Why do you want to look at a subset rather than Trump's entire presidency?

Check the second graph ... Americans make $10 more per week than they did 40 years ago and until a couple of years of increases under Obama recently actually made less. (Note that the Obama gains from 2014-16 have stalled out.)

Let's see now. Mid-2014 to the end of 2016 would mean roughly 30 months of record-setting employment numbers for Obama.

The good news is that Trump only has to keep it up for another year and a half in order to be as good as Obama.
