But I don't think you're comparing apples to apples here. IIRC the people who went to that shop went out of their way to go to a Christian bakery in order to have a cake baked up that offended the owners beliefs. They were looking for an issue to get upset over, for all intents and purposes they were spoiling for a legal fight. I don't think Sanders was doing that.

Did the bakery refuse to sell a cake, or did they refuse to sell a cake that had a message they didn't like? There's kind of a distinction as well as a huge difference in motivation. The parallels would be a lot better if Sanders walked into a gay-managed restaurant and asked for a burger with John 3:16 written in ketchup on the french fries and was refused service.

 

Sanders support a president who picked the biggest anti-gay VP ever followed up by installing an anti-gay supreme court justice and you think a gay managed restaurant owner should harbor no ill will?

Earlier in the thread, someone asked another poster if they'd be fine with a KKK-er patronizing their business or words to that effect. Were I running that business, I'd say hey - their greenbacks pay my bills as well as Hogg's or Cheney's or Maddow's or Limbaugh's. So long as their credit is good and they don't start a fight in the dining room or steal the silverware, their money is as good as anyone elses money. But there's a difference between say, someone just ordering a steak and someone ordering a steak and asking for me to write out a message in A-1 steak sauce entirely antithetical to the beliefs stated on the store facade.

Do we even know that Sanders knew the place was gay-run before she went in?
