The most complicated thing Obama ever did was walk around with a clipboard.

He was out of his element in the WH.

Who was President four years ago, back when you were all yelling out of the other side of your mouths?

That happened DESPITE Obama and his policies.

Another piece of President Obama’s energy legacy: Oil and natural gas production on federal lands tanked under his tenure even as private activity increased.

From 2008 to 2016, major indicators of federal onshore and natural gas operations declined, including the number of leases, acres leased, permits approved and wells being drilled, according to the Western Energy Alliance in Denver.

The energy advocacy group used figures released Wednesday from the Bureau of Land Management for fiscal year 2016 to finalize its report.

“Who needs the Keep-It-in-the-Ground movement when you have the federal government doing the job itself,” said Alliance President Kathleen Sgamma. “Every major indicator of oil and natural gas activity on federal lands is down.”

Rep. Rob Bishop, Utah Republican and House Natural Resources Committee chairman, said Wednesday that production on federally managed lands “was all but impossible under the Obama administration,” citing bureaucratic red tape and fewer leases offered.

The FY2016 figures reflect “the lowest amount of leased acreage for the years statistically available, since 1988,” with leased acreage during the eight-year period falling by 20 million, the committee said.

I wonder if you can even begin to back up the Trump net work claims in your cartoons.

They don't even come close to matching either his claims or his FEC filings.

Trump's net worth changes every time he opens his mouth, and he clearly lies openly about it and anything else to do with his finances.

In the industry he is in, most folks don't think he's even worth 1 billion.

But you could ask his Russian friends. They're holding the notes on him.

Don't confuse them with facts about oil drilling on PRIVATE lands where Obama had no control and drilling on PUBLIC lands where Obama denied drilling. If the Gulf drilling hadn't been vacated after the Obama drilling platform exploded, our production would have had gas prices down to $1/gal again.

Predictably, you avoided the question. I'll ask again:

At what point - quarter and year - does Obama stop getting credit for the economy?
Just so we have it on record.

When imports exceed exports, it lowers the calculated GDP. Since NAFTA and ever greater trading with China, imports have increased at a much higher rate than exports. This has made it much tougher to increase GDP. Increasing exports and decreasing imports will boost GDP.

I'm guessing they have 8 years. That's how long they blamed Bush for Obama's anemic, dismal recovery.

(unless there is a slow down, then it is immediately all on Trump)

Umm, so under this theory, when Republicans took both houses back in 2012, should they get the recognition since then?

These stupid rationalizations are just getting silly, no one believe this and more of the country is STOKED on the economy.

Trump is absolutely killing it with the economy, will it keep up until the 2020 election? Dunno....

But if it does, you can almost guarantee Trump will be President again.

    "IT'S THE ECONOMY STUPID!"

Trump should just follow their lead and blame everything bad on Bush.

Trick question. Because presidents tend to have very limited control over the economy unless they do something exceedingly stupid, so crediting them for the economy doesn't make sense.

And before you accuse me of partisanship, I've been on this site since 2004, and have made that same point consistently throughout the Bush and Obama years.

So now let me turn that question around: Why do you think presidents deserve credit for the economy, and when do they get to start taking credit?

    recognition for what?
I'm sorry you feel demonstrable historical fact, is rationalizing. Lol
trump has managed not to **** up the economic trend of the past 9 years. Will that trend continue to the 2020 election? I hope it does, but I doubt it.
    I agree.
