    We need to defend ourselves and the best way to defend ourselves is for us to be able to Project our power to destroy an enemies offensive and defensive weapons. That requires our ability to project offensive weapons against any enemy. This is a long term process and the development of super hyper destructive weapons will be needed not only for earth form enemies but what if in the future there are lifeforms out there in space that will be a threat to us. Look at it this way.if we did not develope nuclear weapons the Soviets would have and we would have been up that proverbial estuary without a means of locomotion.

    D.C. would have been renamed Noviy Stalingrad Oblast ,, New District of Stalingrad

    Even if we had no nukes and they did, the only way they could have occupied the U.S. would have been to destroy it with nukes and wiped us all out. Otherwise, they could send over a million soldiers, and, one by one, they'd all get picked off.

    Anyways ... I think what the U.S. should do is to gradually wean ourselves economically from China. Let's produce our stuff here or in Latin America. And Chinese nationals should be sent home. They're all just a bunch of spies, one way or the other.

    Yes totally agree of course we should have started extricating ourselves from the China economic quick sand trap long ago.I have said before that there will be a two front War with China. One economic the other likely military as Chine projects it's influence around the world. China will want resources to fuel it's manufacturing and it will try to get resources from around the world. It will come tompass that China will be like Japan was leading up to WWII in it's quest fir resources. Well we have been in an economic war with China for a couple two decades already.

    The thing that everyone (EVERYONE) overlooks is that the damn Russians are smarter than we are. Paragraphs can be added onto that statement, but when you mash all the air bubbles out of the 'intel' situation, that is what it all distills down to....

    You Democrats can blame Trump, and we on the Right can blame Obama, we can both blame "W" Bush, and everybody can decry the sickening growth of both politics and stupidity in American 'alphabet agencies' since Reagan left the presidency. Assigning blame won't stop the Russians from being smarter than we are.

    The "Russians" are indeed so much better experienced about spying than we are or ever were. Hell even during WWII we needed the Brits to teach us how to set up spy networks.

    I think we may all agree that 'the Wall' was Trump's first really big credibility fug-up! He said flatly that Mexico would pay for it -- but to this day, Mexico hasn't paid one single peso!

    I say that because it's true, even though I voted for Trump twice. The alternative that radical Democrats offered us was even much worse... and I still believe that. It's a hell of a mess we're all in now, and I'm not sure we will ever recover from it. :lonely:

    No evidence will ever be produced to prove Russia had anything to do with it. DC is awash with Chinese money. The argument behind doors is whether China is included in the report. Russia is a political easy target to blame.
