First for the lying to Federal officials. Second and more important, the failure by Hillary to properly protect an official of the Government on assignment to Libya.

What law are you describing? In fact I believe you admitted that NY has attempted to skirt Federal law.

Obama was not compelled to make his tax returns as a private citizen. If so, show us his tax returns for when he was a citizen not on duty as president.

To answer the OP, no. I suppose this might have something to do with the internal IRS opinion where they thought EP might be the only way to withhold requested documents.

I'm not as much concerned about his tax returns as to his blocking testimony on the Mueller report.

How is he going to stop Mueller testifying, as it appears he wants to? Arrest and incarcerate him? It wouldn't surprise me if he tried. One way or another I think we'll hear his finding. "Trump is a lying piece of feces"

I'm sure it's on several of them, as there are several for the several properties, which will detail the LLC's parnerships, paper entities etc.

Walking back who the partners in each of the entities will be interesting reading.

Reading Trump does not want us to be doing.

    Yes they are acting petty.
Remember the Birth certificate debacle 10 yrs ago? How petty was that?

He did not block the Mueller report. Him calling it a witch hunt does not mean he blocked anything. Even if he wanted to get rid of Mueller, the Mueller team would not stop investigating.

I'm actually not that concerned about his tax returns.

I told my wife the day Trump rode the escalator, that he would do everything in his power to hide any details of his finances and who he has done business with.

Watching the GOP minority leader on the Intel Committee rant about how they're subpoenaing everyone even though Mueller hasn't yet appeared was an exercise in hypocracy. But then, they don't have much material to work with.

Trump promised to release his tax returns.

    He lied.

Should presidents be required to explain why they lied or be given the option of making their lie the truth?

    I think so.

I'm sure that he has nothing to hide.

    Okay. I lied.

Tom, I doubt you studied the Trump FEC report.

Did you exame all FEC reports done by Trump?

What crimes do you know of in this FEC report?

Something well over a 1000 former prosecutors by now are saying that Trump would be charged with obstruction were he not President. This should be a very well-known fact.

Certainly, but not from legitimate Congressional oversight. The courts are reminding him of this now.

Simple, Kode. His returns are already in the hands of the agency that investigates tax fraud. They have been for decades. Since Trump has not been accused of tax fraud in a court of law by the IRS, it is a safe assumption that his returns are in order. By your own admission you want to reveal all of his private financial affairs because it might reveal this or that or possible this or possible that. In other words, it's a fishing expedition without any credible basis. It's purely political, and it serves no legislative purpose.

Trump abruptly ends infrastructure meeting with Democrats after Pelosi says he is ‘engaged in a coverup’

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/poli...fc796cf2ec0_story.html?utm_term=.ee5b38d17822

"President Trump abruptly ended a meeting with Democratic leaders on Wednesday, saying he was unable to work with them on legislation following comments by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) that he was “engaged in a coverup.”

Pelosi said Democrats had been prepared to deliver a signature accomplishment to Trump at a time when the nation’s roads, bridges, airports and other infrastructure are ailing.
    .....................................................................................................
So........Crooked Donald will not participate in discussions to make infrastructure improvements (to benefit the country) because the Dems will not drop their investigations of his potentially illegal actions.

IOW, he has once again chosen to put his own interests over those of the country he swore to serve.

So you're saying the IRS ignored illegal activity on Trumps tax returns? You do know how that makes you sound, right

Making the claim his returns "are in order" in no way addresses possible criminality that could be exposed by a forensic examination of them in conjunction with other investigations.

    The thing is, it doesn't.

Making the claim his returns "are in order" in no way addresses possible criminality that could be exposed by a forensic examination of them in conjunction with other investigations.

Besides, as you know, this is also about enforcing the right of Congress to examine the returns.

Hell man the IRS has made that statement for the last 10 years, what's your problem accepting their finding? This whole thing is getting a lil weird :hiding:

The method being used is not to verify or validate that a crime has taken place, it is a hunt and search to see what can be considered a crime.

IF there were something to be found, it would have shown itself long before this. If this political maneuvering turns up anything, I will be highly surprised.

I don't personally have a dog in this fight, as I didn't vote for Trump, but apparently it has high value to you to make sure they find something, anything, to validate the idea that Clinton was the 'better choice'.

Perhaps we'll get a few answers sometime soon.

New York Passes Bill Giving Congress a Way to Get Trump’s State Tax Returns

Such returns — filed in New York, the president’s home state and business headquarters — would likely contain much of the same information as the contested federal returns.

A forensic examination can't be conducted without seeing the returns. If there is nothing to hide why not just release them?
