Baloney. Everyone has the right to self defense, even against government repression.

The Tea Party has been saying that for years. Now it's time for them and others of their ilk to apply it here.

That "witness" was trying to save his own butt by pointing the finger at someone else.

Had Peltier been a right wing anti government type like Kahl or Rudolph the forum right wingers would be applauding him

One of the keys to peace between Israelis and Jordanians and Palestinians...… is for Israelis to admit the aspects of their history that were serious errors.

One of the keys to the type of prosperity that Americans and Canadians dream of..... is for us to admit the seriousness of our own sins of the past.

From our perspective here in 2015, we can now look back at the time of Leonard Peltier's acts with at least some understanding...… for the anger that the First Nations peoples of America and Canada have a right to feel.

What a foolish statement!! Your utter lack of knowledge is showing. Gordon Kahl murdered 2 deputy U.S. marshals in 1983 during Ronald Reagan's first term. Those of us in the Reagan justice department pursued the rightwing tax protesting scumbag relentlessly and he was shot and killed a year later in his second gunfight with law enforcement. Only radical rightwing nutjobs ever voiced any support for this scum. The Reagan administration relentlessly pursued white supremacist tax protesting neo-Nazi types throughout his presidency. They were regularly investigated, indicted, convicted and sent to prison.

Eric Rudolph was connected with one of these groups, the so called Christian identity movement he is currently incarcerated at the Florence Colorado supermax. Please do not attempt to conflate the radical neo-Nazis with anyone in the Republican party. They do not vote Republican and indeed they generally do not vote at all. When they do they vote libertarian.

read up on your history, rich

Kahl defended by fellow right wingers:

    http://americanpreppernation.ning.com/profiles/blogs/the-state-murder-of-gordon-kahl

good article which draws parallels between various parts of the far right:

    http://www.dailykos.com/story/2009/04/05/716841/-From-Republican-Rhetoric-to-Right-Wing-Terror

It is a fact that Eric Rudolph was harbored by members of the Republican far right in the Deep South in a display of unpatriotic radicalism.

That is a fact whether you choose to believe it or not.

I really don't need to read up on my "history" truth. I lived it and I indicted and prosecuted way more than my share of rightwing nutjobs. I don't get my information from rightwing blogs and you should not get yours from equally misleading leftwing ones. I do not know a single person who ever defended Gordon Kahl, except a couple of radical tax protestors I put in prison years ago.

What's the matter Tate? Could you not find any of your fellow Canadians who mistreated the Indians as they settled their part of north America? If you want to hate America, that's your problem, but you should at least get your history straight. You are, in part, confusing General Wm. Tecumseh (an Indian name) Sherman with General Phil Sheridan. Sherman's job, post Civil War was to make the country safe for settlement, and that he did.
His most famous quote is this:

"I confess, without shame, I am sick and tired of fighting—its glory is all moonshine; even success, the most brilliant, is over dead and mangled bodies, with the anguish and lamentations of distant families, appealing to me for sons, husbands and fathers ... tis only those who have never heard a shot, never heard the shriek and groans of the wounded and lacerated ... that cry aloud for more blood, more vengeance, more desolation."

Only those who believe that Jefferson should never have made the Louisiana Purchase; that the transcontinental RR should never have been built, that the West should never have been settled could subscribe to your radical anti-American rant. In that case, America would have been relegated to third world status. the largest and most prosperous middle class in history would never have been born. For centuries before the coming of the European whites, American Indians had been enslaving and murdering one another. When the west was settled they did not hesitate to slaughter the settlers. They had no concept of property, no written language, no knowledge of the world. The coming of European civilization was inevitable. Just as the British "savages" fell before the onslaught of the Romans 2000 years ago, so the Indians fell to the Europeans who settled the "new World." Get over it.

Take a look at page one of this discussion ..... post #8........

My last name is English....and speaking of guilt.....you may be surprised how much of a mess we English aristocrats made even of American monetary policy?!

    http://www.christianforums.com/thre...cans-from-a-canadian-and-a-thank-you.7653888/
An apology to all Americans from a Canadian, and a thank you!

Some of my ancestors were Masons from Dixie who came to Country Harbour, Nova Scotia at the time of the American Revolution. I deeply appreciate the fact that so many Americans were closer to God than we Canadians tend to be and somehow your leaders were guided to not persecute us!

I also wish to apologize for the fact that the leadership of my nation was less guided by the Holy Spirit and we did not understand how the independence of America was comparable to the division of the Northern Kingdom of Israel from the Southern Kingdom of Judah at the time of King Rehoboam the son of Solomon.

I also wish to apologize for our elitism because it has been playing a significant role in your economic crash of 2008. If a higher percentage of Americans understood the full implications of truly wise monetary policy the world would begin to look quite different indeed!

    Gee Dennis,
I 'm sorry, I did not realize you were a religious fanatic. Had I known that I would never have engaged you in conversation. It's always a useless effort.

What about spirituality? Are you into the subject of reincarnation?

    http://www.politicalforum.com/relig...hy-reincarnation-edited-out-christianity.html
Why reincarnation was edited out of Christianity?
On Saturday I began a Facebook group entitled Barbro Karlen and Anne Frank after one of the most famous cases of a child remembering a past life.

Yesterday I got the most logical explanation I have ever read as to why reincarnation may have been edited out of the Christian scriptures:

Ahhhh.... no wonder you have given up on having a conversation with us religious types.

Just in case this helps you in the future..... I really started losing religious debates big time with an article on near death experiences in Psychology Today. Then I read just about all the books on the topic that I could get my hands on....... my belief structure has been radically altered by these accounts.

Here is one that it took me about five years to get my head around........ but it was sure worth it to go through all the cognitive dissonance?!

    http://www.politicalforum.com/gay-lesbian-rights/380595-g-ds-agenda-gay-community.html
G-d's Agenda for the Gay Community?!
Assuming the accuracy of the following two paragraphs...… what specifically would G-d/ HaShem/ YHWH/ The G-d of Abraham be planning to do through the Gay Community?

    http://www.near-death.com/andreason.html#a11

Obviously..... one of the things that our Creator wishes to do through the Gay Community..... is to create a whole new world in which there....."would never be one single wisecrack or hurtful remark made ever again"... is expanded and expanded and expanded to all groups and communities on earth?!

Having worked in the tax field for over 20 years (with 13 of them in the IRS) I came across more than enough tax evading nutjobs from the radical right wing and helped put some in prison as well. Don't need to read blogs to get my data as I have lived through all this radical nonsense.

What could possibly make you think that I was anti-gay?? Quite an unwarranted assumption on your part. We are Episcopalians and my wife of 54 years and I sang in episcopal Choirs for more than 25 years.
I am not opposed to religion at all, just religious fanatics. Like the Taliban, ISIS, and certain people who call themselves Christian, but who have hate rather than love in their hearts.
    have a nice day Dennis.

I wasn't accusing you of being anti-Gay. I was just searching for a topic where we may both share an interest.

    http://www.politicalforum.com/polit...mpaign-gains-momentum-g-o-p-can-reformed.html

If Dannion Brinkley's campaign gains momentum.... the G.O.P. can be reformed!

In my opinion...… The Democrats and G. O. P. are too divided......… if they can find more common ground to cooperate on...… they would become somewhat more polite to each other...… and the stage would be set for significant progress.

There is a near death experiencer who is willing to campaign for the office of POTUS and if his campaign gains momentum...… and if his desire to team up with Donald Trump comes to pass........... the most bigoted members of the G. O. P. could well confront information that will transform how they view the LGBT community???!

............Because Dannion is himself a near death experiencer he can immediately understand the deep wisdom in the following statements by another near death experiencer. These few paragraphs have the potential to reform the most bigoted of G. O. P. voters....... which will greatly decrease the animosity that many Republicans and Democrats have for each other.

Zosiasmom, what would you recommend be done in his particular case at this time, under these set of circumstances?

If I was P. M. of Canada, I would want to ask for Mr. Leonard Peltier to be released to come to Canada....... then we could figure out some way to extend considerably more courtesy to him than was given to...... Mr. Omar Khadr?!

I personally, believe that the prediction of some sort of "Warriors of the RAinbow" as elaborated on by Eyes of Fire of the Cree nation, is going to come to pass......... and I would love to see my nation Canada do something with chutzpah to get on the good side of these astonishingly gifted people?!

    I have to admit that
