    Numbers for what exactly? I’m not going to go to the effort of digging up some statistics for you to dismiss them on some kind of technicality. Why not look up the particular statistics you’re interested in yourself? It might be interesting. :cool:

    Anyway, as I said, it’s a complex issue with all sorts of different people in all sorts of different places so simple statistical comparisons and measurements won’t always tell the full story. I also agreed that there are proportionately larger numbers of immigrants and refugees who come to western nations, for some obvious reasons. I’m not sure any of that really gets us to the core of what your OP was implying though.

    I’m glad you acknowledge that we’re not actually forced to do anything and I pointed out how much of the pressure on our governments come from some of their own voters rather than some external forces. As for guilt, that’s really a personal internal matter. If you can be easily made to feel guilty for not helping out those “foreigners” a little, maybe that means that deep down you believe it’d be the right thing to do. :)
