My addendum was personal opinion after I answered your request for one person that said the wall was impossible to build. I know you want to deflect from the fact that your question was answered and you wish to obscure your defeat on this subject but there it is. Deal with it.

Yep, there are people who believe its impossible. They have science and engineering to back them up. Does your claim about the Hoover Dam have any supporting evidence?

Its not my opinion. It is however Churchill's which you've already acknowledged. Who do you think knew more about WW2, you or the WW2 Prime Minister of Britain?

I still think we need to phase out big carriers for small ones. LOTS of them.
-they're a smaller target and a less 'traumatic' loss
-they're cheaper to operate and easier to take OOS for maintainance (less drop in readiness)
-many situations only require a few planes, and sending many planes is a strategic waste
-smaller boats have increased route and harboring options, faster speeds, more maneuverability... etc.
-and the Chinese won't be so hungry to sink one just to show off

False, they have been a power since the end of WW2.

I missed my last white house briefing on the military situation so I will have to take your word for all of that

I think we are in decline in part because we are funding chinas military growth

Or rater the American consumers are

It didnt do a thing to our production capacity

Only globalists like the clintons, bushes and members of congress could destroy the worlds strongest manufacturing juggernaut

    And they did

If a US carrier was sunk, some members of congress would be cheering.

The next dark age is waiting.

I have no doubt China can sink a US aircraft carrier.

Its really about what happens after they do.

I promise they wouldnt like it.

At least you admit it's opinion and admit you couldn't back up your previous statement that the Japanese thought we wouldn't respond because we were weak snowflakes. The only Jap on record called us a sleeping giant and feared what our response would be.

The carrier issue in general is really pretty interesting. Many say they are now obsolete just as WW2 era battle ships became obsolete. Historically they have been how we project power and have the ability to sustain a military presence anywhere in the world but in a full fledged war tactical nukes would quickly eliminate them so it could be they are only good for minor conflicts in this world we live in today.

No doubt you are correct and Trump's response would be immediate and as he would say "really big". Point is what happens after that? This Chinese general thinks we don't have the stomach for a long term major conflict with them and if the Chinese do one thing well it's to think long term. They may be willing to absorb a retaliatory strike if they think congress won't follow through long term. With this strategy they could sink ships, annex islands and claim seas on a piece meal basis as our snowflakes in congress stood by pissing their pants.

Russia may already have an almost unstoppable ship to ship missile that can bring down a carrier.

What does "banned" mean under your avatar?

Chinas entire economy would collapse as US submarines take station off every Chinese port, eliminating all trade with China, in a very very short period of time.

Assuming a congress run by snowflakes would fund that response it would be a good one.

Setting aside the improbability of sinking a modern US carrier without using nuclear weapons (the use of which would then result in US retaliation with nuclear weapons), the chain of islands from Japan to Okinawa to Taiwan are Japanese territory. Fighter jets flying out of airbases in Okinawa and Japan could easily block all Chinese shipping out of the East China Sea.

In addition, long range bombers flying out of Hawaii and California could easily sink Chinese shipping across the Pacific Ocean.

Long range bombers flying out of Diego Garcia could sink any Chinese shipping across the Indian Ocean. And we might be able to come to an arrangement with Australia for a bomber base as well.

How long will the Chinese economy hold out when they are cut off from world trade?

Our carriers have been useless ever since we eliminated the A-6 without an adequate long-range attack replacement, and eliminated the F-14 without an adequate air-superiority replacement.

Well I doubt it. At least, not without nuclear weapons.

    Very true.
