In my assessment/opinion, that is a good fundamentalist view of the subject, however, at the red letter text above, I have some reservations about how you were led into that conclusion.

I had some JW's stop by, they said they'd return as long as I was willing to talk. It was amusing to hear their pathetic attempts to win me over, like I'd never heard the Watchmaker argument. I expected to have a long series of visits, but after two they'd had enough. It kind of broke my heart. ;)

First of all, I'm not a fundamentalist. My view point comes from personal experience so it is most likely shaded by those experiences. When I returned from Vietnam in the late 60's I was a mental basket case. Two great therapist and Christianity helped me put my life back together. So my opinion comes from what life has dealt me, and my relationship with God. I can not speak for others, because I haven't walked in their shoes. I went from being an angry person filled with hate and hostility, to someone who loves life, and all people. I had to first make the decision that I wanted my life to change, and change for the better. Once I did, the healing began, but it didn't come easy.

This is a very enlightened view and I wish more religious people could believe as you do.

Now see I have run a Team of the very best the U.S. Military has to offer for decades and I am not Military as I am..."CIVILIAN"....in the manner the quotes denote. If you don't understand this send me a PM and I will explain.

I was in the Middle East for decades and I just got back from doing a...JOB....about 10 weeks ago and I had to have shrapnel removed from my left side.

I have been to the Middle East, Afghanistan, Africa, Central America, Southeast Asia, Russia....you name it...I have been there.

I saw some things in Africa that I just cannot get out of my mind....and I saw a young woman be stoned to death high in the Afghan mountains....and at the time we could not help her but we did avenge her.

I was even clinically dead for a short time after I got shot.

Thing is....I have seen absolutely zero evidence any GOD exists.

We called you guys spooks. Anyone that has been in the mud has visions that won't go away, I have mine. We humans have what is known as free will, meaning we can choose to do good, or evil. Humans are the only ones that kill for pleasure, revenge or to enforce their beliefs on someone. I just figured the VC were Satan's boys so I didn't mind killing them, look up March of 68, My Lai, I was there. Today I realize they were just people doing what they were ordered to do. I did two tours in Nam and I truly wish I could totally erase those memory's, but it is there for a reason. It reminds me how evil we all can be given the wrong circumstances. All we need to do is look around the world and we can see the difference between good and evil. We have people that are dedicated to helping others and improving the lives of those in need, then we have those who choose to do evil. God allows you to choose what direction your life will go. It isn't about this life, it is about your destiny once you step out of your physical body.

Well I am happy for you that you have that faith.

    I do not.

Funny thing....I was in Nam back in 2013 and they are heavily lobbying us to rebuild our bases there especially at Cam Ranh Bay.

They want us there in NUMBERS as they want us as a buffer between them and China. Remember the war in 1979?

I have always been able to deal with the horrors I still see because since I am not Military and because I am very good at what I do they have given me a great deal of latitude and I WILL NEVER allow some snot nosed Politician call the shots and I will never allow my guys to be dropped into a meat grinder just because some Senators son has planned out an OP and even though this kid has absolutely NO IDEA what the realities are on the ground he still get's his plan pushed and forced upon others.

I just won't do JOBS like that.

I have the option to refuse....but I earned that option.

And the parents, wives and girlfriends and kids of my men are very happy I ave this option.

As recently as last summer I said no 3 times.

I do have "that faith", and I really don't want to relive the past. I have the utmost respect for special ops people and their dedication, as I do for our police and firefighters. I live in California and see what our firefighters go through each year. We have many good and dedicated people here in the US as do other countries. We need to learn to put our differences aside and focus on caring about each other.

Well....perhaps we should focus on ourselves here in the States because I have just seen far too much blood everywhere else as we do out best to help....well at least I make sure my Team does....and then others who believe their religious ideology is the only one...the right one....use the name of GOD as an excuse to butcher others.

I have seen things that most people could not believe if they had seen it with their own eyes. I have seen sociopaths kill just for the sake of killing. And I have ended as many as I could.

I have no regrets as far as doing that.
