the white man's burden came from emotion, not reason.

civilising them has not solved any problems but created many more, live and let live.

Today was my combined Saturday/Sunday so I ran errands and got groceries.

For dinner I am having fresh home made meat and vegie soup.

I cut up the last of my roast from last week and combined it with bok choi, green onions, stir fry vegies, and vegie broth cubes to make it. Made 2 big servings for now and tomorrow, as usual.

I'll have a frozen fruit swirl with moonshine for dessert -- made from blended frozen fruit and the booze.

I didn’t really acquire it myself until I was stationed in Germany. Beer is good, beer is nice. Beer solved more problems than it ever caused.

Beer certainly is NOT an acquired taste. It may be a Peer Pressured
taste. But the sheer volumn of Beer sold and consumer in the United
States is proof positive it is Not Acquired.
That means acquired by ones own efforts. There can be no mistaking
that Beer in the U.S. is pushed on the consumer like corn flakes and
    hamburgers.
One acquires a taste for certain seafood like snails or Oysters Rockefeller,
    or Veal Scallopini.
But of all things NOT BEER.

Early day today so up at the crack of dawn.

Turkey sausage and fried eggs to eat with hot chocolate to drink for breakfast.

Packing pita bread ham and cheese sandwiches for lunch, plus snacks.

Coke, Fresca, iced tea, and two small bottles of milk into the ice chest too.

Mornings are always a mad dash for me to eat and pack food and drinks and get cleaned up and dressed for the day.

Today I will be guarding a meat packing plant all day long. We guard that place 24/7/365 in 8 hour shifts during the week and 12 hour shifts on weekends.

I guess thieves steal meat as well as rob banks and convenience stores.

You're all paying for this in your bacon purchases at the stores.

Real German beers from German taps (on tap) is great, yes.

By the time you bottle it and ship it to the USA is loses something. Same problem with Guinness.

I use a brewing software that has water reports from all over the world. You enter your own water report and the software will tell you what to add to your water to make it like say Dublin Ireland. Depending on what your water is, you might have to start with distilled or RO water if you are too high in certain areas. you can get malt, specialty grains, and yeast strains from all over the world at any well stocked home brew supply house. You can make any beer you can think of right at home.

I don't think Tim Robbins cottons the notion of being
a Boot licker in that Movie. But he does end up polishing the
    warden's shoes.

    I didn't know that. Cool.

I was just quickly reading about him. It seems at one point he grew tired of singing novelty songs.
Mitch Miller kept passing the novelty songs to him and he had enough. He had the opportunity to record Jambalaya (On the Bayou) and declined.
I was surprise to read Mitch Miller was in charge of the recording artists at Columbia records.
