Let me git this straight. You never mention Bread.
I need bread at every meal. It's The most basic of Eats.
As in Monks surviving on just Bread & Water.
Bread is what defines good dining.Freshly made dinner
rolls or nice European crusty bread.I was brought up on
Good bread.Fresh baked rye bread on the weekends.
    I know bread has it's detractors.As does cheese.But Europeans
live longer, smoke more cigarettes and also consume Lots bread
    and cheese.

Actually Carbs and Pasta are not enemies of the human
anatomy.Nor is butter.Look at the number of Old Italian Ladies
who live to be 100.Look at the number of Grandmothers who survived
on their bread with butter.Margarine is the enemy. Also Saturated fat.
    Not Olive oil or butter.
Lectins are the new enemy on the block.

Yes. There is every indication that animals are programmed to eat whenever they can. That is not a good survival strategy in an environment with "fast food" and supermarkets.

Moderation requires discipline and thought to overcome the instinct to eat whenever possible.

    Therefore a good golden rule.
Of 3 squares a day { 3 main meals a day } where no need for
    snacking in-between is necessary.

And if you are not very active it is a good idea to avoid the fast carbs, including grain, most of the time. But that is very hard to do.

Best health is actually not 'three squares a day', it is 4-5 smaller meals (about every 3 hours), with higher carbs consumed with the mid day meals, and lowest carbs consumed with the last meal of the day. The American diet is high in simple carbs (breads and pasta) instead of vegetables and fruits.

Your body burns off what carbs you consumed, even when your sedentary, in about 3-4 hours. The difference is in simple carbs versus complex carbs, which translates into simple=blood spike and complex = no spike.

I don't buy into that.Just like the way first Coffee was bad for you ...
then ... well only if you have it more than 4 times a day.
Or chocolate is unhealthy.Actually Chocolate with a high percent
of cocoa { over 50 % } is beneficial for good health.
    Lectins are what is bad.
I think low quality bread is harmful. And that whole wheat bread
    is Not any wonder ingredient.
Some pasta dishes like Fettuccine Alfredo are harmfull.Full of fatty
    cheese and melted butter.
Just like sour cream is not fattening or salty. But ya gotta
read the label to know that.

Certain things, in moderation, aren't harmful, per se. But when taken in quantity, such as the American diet today, loaded with unhealthy fats, high impact carbs, and synthetic chemicals used for flavor, color and preservation, well, you end up eating more crap then good stuff.

I am a Type 1 diabetic - I've spent years studying nutrition. Not that I'm any professional, but I know a good deal about it. Read labels on 'prepared' foods, like breads.

I went ketogenic, so I don't eat breads, pasta, or any wheat products, potatoes, legumes, sugar or any simple carbs. In maintenance mode I try to limit the complex carbs to around 100 grams a day. In order to stay away from carbs, you have to eat mostly natural foods. Joint pain magically disappeared or mostly so. A lifetime of chronic heartburn disappeared. I used to eat 10 or more Tums a day. Now I don't eat them at all. Blood pressure dropped like a rock. My lifelong severe blood sugar issues are under control for the first time in my life. I lost almost 70 pounds. And now I date exceedingly hot women.

    Best thing I ever did!

When fully ketogenic, I ate 25 grams of carbs a day. THAT was intense. But wow! The results are dramatic.

    ... NOT a priority currently.

Paying off my medical bills was a priority and accomplished.

Restoring my savings to where it was before all the surgeries was another priority and it was accomplished too.

I have now recovered physically and financially from several surgeries.

    Life Is Good, again.

Keto sounds good for weight loss and balance, but unfortunately, my issue is the opposite - it's hard for me to maintain my weight.

Pasta is my weakness, I love the stuff, but it is sooo bad for me in multiple ways. Alternatives are that veggetti thing you do with a zucchini, but at that point, why bother, lol. It's like eating diet chocolate.

Fresh veggies, seafood, fruits, nuts. That sounds so pathetic when all you want is.... Tiramisu-Cocoa-Single-Sun.jpg
