I have severe metabolic syndrome. I have my entire life. When I eat carbs, I release too much insulin and go into low blood sugar. I had seen doctors including a leading expert but they didn't have many options. The drug they provided to help control it was literally intolerable. Then one day I passed out from a glass of milk. I was also getting these dark spots on my skin that I learned were acanthosis nigricans - a result of perpetually high insulin levels. So decided to take drastic action. Right about then someone told me about ketogenic diets. I have no doubt it saved my life. It completely turned my life around.

Once my brain made the subconscious connection between the foods high in carbs, and how badly they made me feel, I mostly stopped wanting those foods. Just thinking of something like cake and ice cream makes me feel a little ill.

Traditional Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners are a thing of the past for me. I probably wouldn't survive the night!

Eat lots of protein.

Getting some sun picking up from Alberto he was a bit messy, but not too bad. The rain gauge is showing 6 inches but I think it was more, it sure seemed like more.

I may have to reconsider this Goat thingy.
I bought a complete season two of - Magnum P.I. - the
other day.And in one scene Magnum is seen driving a
billygoat in his Flashy Red Ferrari.He then stops home and
carries the Goat out of the seat almost like a drowsy baby.
A few scenes later Magnum is seen chasing around the Billygoat
on his nice backyard and catches and then grabs and holds onto
with a cuddly bear hug as he puts said goat in it's rightful place { a pen ? }
Real cute.I mean,he doesn't even go that far with most sexy chicks.

Got two left feet and no rhythm in my body...lol. I am a klutz, my son says my Mother should have named me Grace..lol.

 

I am a sucker for U-Pick fields. Went picking day before yesterday and came home with a new four-legged addition. We took it to the vet yesterday for a checkup and medicines. Other than being a money pit he is going to be a nice kitty once he is neutered.

 

We missed buying a trailer similar to that by just a few hours. It was such a good price. Dang!!
Got some goats but they didn't work out. That is a story for another day. I settled on the goats and what a mistake that was, the only person who made out in that deal was the man selling the goats. Before I buy more goats I am doing a lot of research. So goats are on the shelf for now. I still want mini silky fainters and if I get more goats it will be mini silky fainters period. Right now I am waiting for the right goats.

 

I've slammed my own hand in a desk drawer (and car door), fallen into waste baskets, walked into walls. You have my unending sympathy.

 

Cmon Daisy.....we can provide ya some rhythm. Then all ya gotta do is, Bust a Move.

Oh, and falling down don't count as a move.

 

I myself have a tendency to clip corners with my shoulders, knocking things down if they are not firmly secured, and bruising my shoulders in the process.

Happens to everybody. Makes me feel like a bull in a China shop.

 

A cat costs about $1000 per year. $500 is for the vet and the other $500 for food and toys.

 

For my lunch at 0730AM -- a tuna sandwich.

My cat noticed I was touching his stack of tuna cans, so he immediately came over and got ready to eat.

I squeezed-off the brine into a pudding dish, then spooned half the tuna into it and remoistened it. That is the half that I gave to the cat. He began to dig in immediately.

The other half I mixed with relish and mayo and spooned on top of toast. It was good.

I can see why the cat loves this. So do I.

 

Imposed discipline works like a charm for dogs and cats.
Sadly, it would not be wise to trust a wife or girlfriend with that kind of power over us.

 

Yeah but you know if ya can chew bubble gum and walk across the street in a dress or shorts. Causes men to forget about the rest of all that.

 

Oh, now you tell me.

 

I assume you use fat, protein and slow carbs to get enough calories. You can do a lot with heavy cream, cheese and eggs.
