    Would be tempted to apply some kind of vinyl or aluminum siding.
    Painting would be great if you never had to do it again.

    I went to that site to check it out.
    Im looking at the gardens and listening to this and imagining where I would want to be in every picture. I just took a 5 minute mind vacation. lol
    Those gardens are beautiful. I need to read more about the history of the place. It sounded interesting.

    Half walls can provide cover from buckshot w/o obstructing the open spaces feeling.

    I really hate vinyl and aluminium siding. I have vinyl siding on most of my house and it has gotten brittle over the years. The north side of the house is wood siding recovered from a very old house. It looks much better after a little sanding and paint. It also adds to the structural integrity of the building. I also replaced some on the east side of the building where the vinyl blew off in the wind.

    Cementitious fiberboard. Hardie board by brand. I'm planning on using it when the rebuild finally happens. Carpenter bees don't like it, and that is a huge plus, considering what the sides of my current shack looks like.

    How about the brick or stone veneer they use on these McMansions - does that hold up?
    Is it manufactured - and cheap?

    Those helos have been in service 40 years and still going strong. Now and then they fly over our house coming in and out of Fort Pickett where the Virginia National Guard trains. What I really like seeing are the V-22 Osprey.

    Speaking of armor...



    We live about 35 miles away from the fort and you can hear the live fire drills from our house. When they break out the big FA pieces they will literally rattle the rafters. I don't know how the folks who live in Blackstone handle all that rockin' and rollin'...

    I'd try it.
    Provolone, swiss and american doesn't sound all that great a combination. But you never know.

    I dont like thin crust pizza. A good dough is a big part of making a good pizza.
    Thin crust pizza is like cardboard with gravy and cheese.

    Mount Stewart is a great place to take a mind vacation - I've taken a few there, myself. :lol:

    From what I've read, the work on the gardens we see today began about a century ago. I always thought they were much older than that...
