No it isn't. And they're telling the truth when they say they are not socialists.

They are flaming capitalists, looking for more of the profits to fund more of their luxury programs (paying lazy First Worlders to relax).

 

There are ways. I'm not an economist or a business major, but I've heard of programs in W Europe that do this kind of thing successfully. We could learn from them.

 

There are many forms of socialism--some good, some not--just as with capitalism. There are ways to work with companies--especially larger ones--to assure things like child care for employees, a guaranteed living wage, healthcare, and a portion of the company profits go to the workers who make success possible for that company. This avoids interjecting governmental controls over the daily functions of that company or any given industry. I'm sure there are many other ideas that could & would be helpful to study.

 

How are they stopped, please?

 

DID it successfully. Once they started accepting millions of non-participants (mass migration), all of those programs started to suffer. They will eventually collapse, if immigration continues at the same pace.

 

They're all just job perks. Many companies already offer such things.

 

Republicans want to kill Social Security and Medicare, but when dems take control they will declare a national emergency to save these programs

 

None of you are socialists. If you WERE socialists, you'd probably be better off voting Right.

If you want more of the wealth, go out and earn it. Or become an actual socialist, and join a collective.

 

Yes, that's truly a major challenge for those countries. If we continue ignoring global warming, it will soon become a similar problem for us as well.

 

I'm not sure I agree with your term "many." I think companies that offer such benefits has been shrinking over the past few decades. I would like to see government make it mandatory that all large companies comply with such benefits for its workers nationally. Our current system serves only the company owners & CEOs. That MUST CHANGE.

I agree, but hope we can gradually wean the voters from the Cold War anachronisms so popular (& inaccurate) in conservative & Republican ads.

 

It will only be a problem for you if you don't stop it dead in it's tracks. There should be a freeze on all Third World migration to the First World, for at least 5 years, outside of very stringent merit-based migration.

 

Actually, yes it is. Self-sufficiency is always better than a disaster. Or sitting around hoping someone does something.

 

I'm not in America, and we do see a fair bit of that kind of stuff here. We also have universal public healthcare, well paid maternity/paternity leave, a pretty good minimum wage, and other 'social' laws. So those perks aren't really even needed.

 

It wasn't a dirty word for the auto industry, the investment houses, banks and corporations who received bailouts in 2007-2008.
The help Obama gave them was Socialism---it came straight from the taxpayers!

 

Huh? All forms of socialism have collectivized production. The nature of the collective varies.

To distribute wealth you first have to confiscate wealth. Just no way around that.

 

Today, Sanders has stopped calling for taking over businesses.

There are plenty of honest arguments against Sanders' policies and I prefer dealing with reality.

 

2017 tax cuts were nothing more than socialism favoring the wealthiest of our citizens and corporations.
