A blog? That's where you think National K-12 Education policy is set?

Good heavens! Desperation leads to the most absurd nonsense.

Bottom line: schools are REQUIRED (or should be) to teach children not to be racists. And the extreme right is horrified about this. To the point in which they are desperately looking for something to fabricate that might allow them to stop this from happening anymore. They'll even resort to quoting completely unrelated blogs

Here is the correct one: https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2019/08/14/magazine/black-history-american-democracy.html

which is an essay by the author of the 1619 project, which was turned into a school curriculum by the Pulitzer people and used by thousands of school districts. A lot of parents know this to be true and vote accordingly. It is the Democrats who are desperate cause they got caught promoting CRT, and it is a losing proposition. Calling them racists, btw, only loses you more votes.

So deal with that teacher and stop the lies about it being ubiquitous. You don't even know if that story is true or not.

And wrong quote too. Because the discussion you jumped into was about teaching CRT in schools. Not the same as teaching kids not to be racist. And much less about simply teaching kids history.

The 1619 project was turned into a curriculum by the Pulitzers and sent to thousands of schools? Got any proof?

Who said it was ubiquitous? I certainly didn't. Pay attention to the school board uprisings taking place. Parents are angry. Nothing to worry about according to you.

It's behind a pay wall. Sorry, but it sounds like an opinion piece, and I'm not paying money to the NY Times.
From your other link "While The 1619 Project curriculum isn’t mandated, the content “can certainly be used during instruction,” Cuppett said in an email. Cuppett is not sure if any teachers have utilized the teachings."
That's the one with the extremely deceptive title about 4500 schools. They fail to mention even one that does.

You posted this, but I wonder. Do you think this paragraph is in error? The big mistake is when people attribute literally EVERYTHING to slavery, when, IMO, there are a multitude of factors to the development of this country. Slavery was a big mistake by our country from the outset, but, just as it should, we changed our country over a period of time. is there more work to do? You bet!

Of course it is an opinion peice; by the author of the 1619 project. If you don't want bo believe that progressives are being indoctrinated with this rubbish, be my guest. But a whole lot of people know that it is true, and they vote.

Xus China has only been there since Deng Zhao Peng exited feet first. China is fanancially imploding. Their version of the housing bubble has burst. The problem with planned economies is that human beings screw up time to time and when they do it can be damn hard to steer the giant ship of state away from the shoals in time to avoid disaster.

Slavery is taught in schools but a Marxist based theory has no place in K through 12. Sure in college where minds are expanded but not in grade school.

Yes! You are 100% correct. If you want to wage war on our children in OUR COMMUNITIES, you will lose. We have taken out more teachers and board members in the past 9 months than any time in history. There is a race marxist purge going on and we will not stop and we cannot stop. The right has finally engaged in cancel culture and it is working. I hope it accelerates.

If you want to come to our community, take our resources and attempt to indoctrinate our children to hate themselves.... we will send you packing. This is OUR money and OUR children, you do not get to use OUR money to subvert OUR children. Look to Virginia to see what will happen to your political power if you continue in this course. Never get between a mama bear and her cubs, it will never end well for you.

Last Wednesday morning, Christopher Rufo, the architect of the right-wing crusade against critical race theory, sent me a message asking if I wanted to talk, I suppose because I was one of the first people to write about his project back in February. He was feeling triumphant.

A year ago, few conservatives outside of academia had heard of critical race theory, a graduate school approach to the study of race and power. Now it’s become a central issue in Republican politics, helping to fuel Glenn Youngkin’s victorious gubernatorial campaign in Virginia.

“I’ve unlocked a new terrain in the culture war, and demonstrated a successful strategy,” said Rufo, a documentary filmmaker-turned-conservative activist. With that done, he was getting ready for a new phase of his offensive.

“We are right now preparing a strategy of laying siege to the institutions,” he said. In practice, this means promoting the traditional Republican school choice agenda: private school vouchers, charter schools and home-schooling. “The public schools are waging war against American children and American families,” he said. Families, in turn, should have “a fundamental right to exit.”
    https://www.nytimes.com/2021/11/08/opinion/public-school-enrollment.html

When Rufo, with Tucker Carlson's help, first created the controversy over CRT out of nothing I doubt he knew what a lightning rod issue for Repubs it would become. But now it's become apparent he struck culture war gold. The thing Repubs love to exploit. Social division. And they are very, very good at it.

It's stunning to see how quickly fatuous right wing talking points have been so thoroughly ingrained in to the vernacular of The Following. Talk about indoctrination.

the right has been engaged in "cancel culture" since the smothers brothers, the dixie chicks, the the hollywood black list

there are bad teachers, and they should be encouraged to find other opportunities. my post was in reference to an op who said that such teachers could not or would not be fired. which is false.

i don't think "marxist" has anything to do with this, and when these suburban mothers discover that your propagandists have been shouting "fire" in a crowded schoolroom it may not end well for you.

Democrats, ‘Race Card’ Themselves Into Oblivion. “I, for one, would like to encourage the Democrats to keep this up. It’s a message that isn’t accomplishing anything that they think it is. The only people who buy it made their purchases a long time ago. They’re not winning over any new hearts and minds with this tired, pathetic line of attack. Last Tuesday was ugly for them, and anyone with eyes to see can knows that it was probably a precursor to what will be an absolute slaughtering at the polls next November.”

I'd rather see them come to their senses.

If you believe what you say, and this is the present situation, why haven't you moved to China?
